Catch the 9.15am '' Island Direct'' bookable on line, or Fullers 0900 ferry to Waiheke, LOOK OUT for your name on the black welcome board, or wait at the I-Site information booth in the ferry terminal at 1000. Best to use the ferries washrooms, as the terminals often experience long ques. We then embark on a scenic tour taking in some of the wonderful sites fully commentated, before visiting 3 of Waihekes finest boutique vineyards. We recommend you book your own lunch reservation during the busy summer months. Mudbrick Archive 2pm or Oyster Inn, Fenice or Vino Vino 2.15pm. Or you can just choose one of many local cafes and eateries in the sea side village of Oneroa. Transfers provided back the ferry terminal at 3.45pm, or you may chose to stay on and enjoy more time on the Island and make your own way back to the ferry .

A wonderfully personal, irreverent and well-diversified day outing. We had excellent commentary on Waiheke’s history, a solid tour of the lovely island and stops at three vineyards with different strengths. Our guide, Glen, was engaged and fun, making sure we got a lunch table at the place we fancied amongst his recommendations. A winter visit yielded an extra-small group tour for us, which was a plus. Small groups are definitely the way to visit vineyards! Recommended.

Brilliant tour. Lovely Glen picked us up at the ferry and took us on a mini tour of the island with commentary before taking us to three very different but excellent wineries.

Glenn was great and gave some interesting insight about the island. The three wineries we visited were all really good experiences, so the curated tour of Waiheke was exactly what I was hoping for. That said, I took one star off because I have been wine tasting in California many times and you always break up the tastings with lunch. Typically one winery in the morning, have lunch, and then the other two after on a full stomach. Instead Glenn claimed that people don't like to taste after lunch because it messes with their palate... what? So instead we did all three wineries in a row. As a woman, I felt like that was a lot with no break and no food. And it meant we were eating lunch quite late around 2:30. I know it can be tricky with timing it all out, but having lunch to break up the tastings so that people aren't getting too tipsy and can eat at a normal time would have been better. I took the other star off because they really need to limit the minimum number of guests on the tour to at least 3 people. Wine tasting can be a very intimate experience and when there are just two of you, the dynamic can be quite awkward with a stranger. I was a solo female traveler in my 30s and ended up on the tour with a man twice my age. So suddenly what promised to be a relaxing day wine tasting on Waiheke turned into a 5-hour blind date that I desperately didn't want to be on. I felt trapped and deeply uncomfortable, especially when he started hitting on me. And it didn't help that since we were going to three wineries in a row we were just drinking nonstop and I felt very vulnerable. And unfortunately even though Glenn's suggestion for a lunch place was great, he offered to book ahead for the two of us... so then I was stuck with this guy for lunch too! And felt like I had no polite way to express that I wanted to be left alone. Even one other person on the tour would've broken up the weird one-on-one dynamic and made the whole experience less uncomfortable.

Our guide was so passionate and knowledgeable about the area and its history. You get so much more than a wine tour with this experience. The wineries were thoughtfully selected and offered a great range.
