Te Ara Hura is a 100km-long walking track that takes you right around Waiheke Island. This amazing walk takes in everything from the bustling villages of the western end to bush, beaches, birds and the remote eastern end of the island. Our standard guided walk takes five days, in 15–25km segments. We can, however, customise this walk to shorten the segments, or to complete the walk in just four days. Get your friends together, bring your walking group and spend a few days completing a unique adventure. Each day you will be transported to the start point for the day and you will be picked up at the end and returned to your accommodation. Your guide will walk with you. You will be met by your guide at Pier 2 where the ferries for Waiheke Island depart from downtown. The trip to the island through the beautiful Hauraki Gulf takes around 35 mins aboard a large “Fullers”ferry that has bar and refreshment facilities onboard. Take a scenic Tour around to the northern side of the Island taking in Oneroa Beach, Palm Bay picturesque Onetangi Beach. On the island you will visit and enjoy premium tastings at three vineyards with a choice from Mudbrick Vineyard, Stonyridge, Cable Bay, Obsidian, Tantalus and Te Motu. If you're curious about what it's like to ride a Segway then this ride is for you.  It's designed to teach you how to ride and give you plenty of time to practice before heading off around the village to take in the sights of Devonport, Auckland's historic seaside village.  You'll ride around the Waterfront to Cheltenham beach where you will have a superb view of the Hauraki Gulf and Rangitoto Island which, at only 650 years old, is our youngest volcanic cone rising majestically out of the Gulf.  There will be plenty of opportunities to take some great photos of the scenery and of course of you on a Segway.  As you return to our base on Devonport Wharf you'll have a chance to put the Segway through its paces as you ride up hill and down dale through the back streets of the village where you can admire the beautifully restored Victorian villas.

Our accredited nature and forest therapy guide will lead your group through a series of invitations to deliberately slow down, and to become present and mindful, while gently walking in a beautiful location. We will conclude with a tea ceremony to integrate the experience. And, this all takes place on beautiful Waiheke Island, just 35 minutes by ferry from downtown Auckland. Minimum booking: 4 people

Experience the twin headlands of Matiatia and Church Bay on Waiheke Island, walking with your private group and an expert local guide. This walk consists of two parts, with lunch in between. Sometimes we do the northern route first, and sometimes the southern. Why is that? Well, we often need to work around the tides! Northern route (approx 2 hours): We’ll walk around the Matiatia headland and past Owhanake Bay, enjoying beautiful views of the Hauraki Gulf Islands, Great Barrier Island and Coromandel Peninsula. You’ll spot sea birds, native plants and, if you’re lucky, orcas or dolphins. We’ll stop for lunch at Oneroa Village. You can eat in one of the local cafes or have a picnic on the beach with food you’ve purchased or brought with you. Southern route (approx 2 hours): We’ll walk through Pio Rehutai Reserve and around the Church Bay headland through a sculpture park and a stunning bush reserve. We’ll pass hidden coves and amazing homes, as we enjoy view of the city and sea.

Discover the outer Hauraki Gulf aboard the 41-foot catamaran Pacific Star, with daily departures from Waiheke Island. Your charter is for exclusive use of the yacht with two crew (captain and host). We can stop at a pest-free island for a guided walk, plus you’ll have opportunities for swimming, snorkeling and stand-up paddleboarding. Our guide will help you learn about the Hauraki Gulf Marine Park, its islands and people. You’ll spot seabirds and may see dolphins, and even whales, as we glide along with the wind in our sails.
