I had the most amazing 2-day safari experience in Mikumi National Park with Erick from Safari Gateways, and I can’t recommend him as a guide enough! We chose a 2-day safari tour in Mikumi with visit to Maasai village on second day. Our guide, Erick, was absolutely fantastic—friendly, knowledgeable, and incredibly kind. He made sure we didn’t miss a thing, from majestic elephants and giraffes to lions lounging in the sun and herds of zebras crossing the plains. His deep understanding of the park and its animals truly enhanced the entire experience and you could truly see that he is passionate about the job and shared all his knowledge with us. His english was perfect so we could also very well understand everything. Although there was a missunderatanding regarding the organisation of the second day of the trip he was responsive and we managed to arrange everything in a short amount of time. The vehicle was comfortable, the lodge we stayed in (Camp Bastian) was big and well-kept, and the food was local. Every moment felt like a dream come true. Erick was also very attentive to our needs and always made sure we were comfortable and safe. If you’re looking for an authentic, memorable safari in Tanzania, Safari Gateways is the way to go—and ask for Erick if you can! This experience exceeded all expectations and left me with memories I’ll cherish forever.

The first african safari in Mikumi National Park started with a warm welcome after a smooth flight from Zanzibar to Mikumi airfield in the middle of the park. Everything was organised and taken care of. We had a very sympathetic, professional and experienced guide named Erick who is also a park ranger, so you are in very good hands. He knows each and every corner of the park, the spots where the animals are, what they do when and how they behave. With that you will have a high probability to see a lot of animals even from up close. During the safari tour Erick explained a lot about the flora and fauna, answers questions patiently and professional, but still it was a very relaxed and fun atmosphere. You can listen even to some amazing stories that happen in the park and a life of a guide & ranger. Having Erick as game driver and guide you will feel welcome, save and can enjoy the full beauty of Mikumi park and he truly made this safari a life time memorable experience. Personally it was amazing to get the change to not only see “almost” the big fives but to see different kind of animals among each other which is truly a national geographic like photo scenery and all that thanks to Safari Gateway Team and especially Erick who made this to a lifetime memorable experience! Thank you again! I can genuinely recommend this experience to anyone looking for something truly memorable and enriching.
