  • 16 Hours Kangaroo Island From Adelaide

This tour involved a bus trip to the Cape Jervis Ferry Wharf (two hours south of Adelaide), apologies that we didn't catch the name of our first driver (on early shift 6th June), we really appreciated your wealth of knowledge of the Adelaide & surrounding areas, also for all your help explaining the next part of the journey, the ferry. After the ferry, that's where we met Brad our tour guide, who drove us over the length of the 155 k's of the Island, we were surprised with how big the Island is & all the services available. Brad, being a resident, certainly knew his stuff, which was extremely impressive, thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with us. Kangaroo Island is such a beautiful place, you'll love all the landscape highlights & the wildlife. The National Parks staff were also amazing, sharing their knowledge with us along the way as well. The Wildlife Park at Seal Bay was also a beautiful experience, meeting up along the way with some rescue kangaroos & koalas, thank you to all the staff there. Thank you to everyone at 'The Stranger' for lunch, a very much appreciated baked chicken/veggies. We had the best day, thank you to all the ferry crew & Wayne who did the bus service & commentary the way back to Adelaide (apparently not your usual run, the company are lucky to have you), you all made for an exceptional day!!

Long day. Lots of travelling time, but well worth the effort. Spectacular views. Coach drivers were very informative about the history of the island. Be prepared for a rough ferry crossing if the weather isn’t ideal.

  • Well organized and efficient.

It’s well organized and efficient. We were busy all 16 hours of the tour. Sightseeing is amazing. Lunch is great. Animal encounters are fun

The tour guide was very good and was kept us well informed about the Island but the ferry can run late.

  • If Kangaroo Island is on your bucket list (as it should be): this tour is so worth it’s money and your time!

I had a great time from the moment I got on the 6:30 bus up until I got dropped off at 22:30. Such knowledgeable and enthousiastic local tour guides and bus drivers (shout out to Dani, who does weekend tours!). Even with the showers we had throughout the day, the locations we were taken to were beautiful and totally worth it. Lunch was very tasty and well-prepared. Because you do go to a couple of locations scattered on the surprisingly big island, there is a strict schedule and you’ll spend quite some time on the bus. However, I didn’t feel rushed whatsoever and all the stories you get on the bus make time fly by. 11/10 would recommend!

  • Pick up spot in Adelaide needs to be clear (where in the bus station)

Pick up area instructions need to be more clear and should have a tour organizer 's contact number. The street number differing on the bus station and also need to mention the waiting area, whether inside the station and where in the station .

Early rise by luxury coach to catch ferry to Kangaroo Island where island coach and driver/tour guide took over. Excellent commentary throughout visit to; Remarkable Rocks, sea life beach, wildlife sanctuary, tasty lunch. Long day but well worth it. Have a snooze on bus after ferry 😉

  • Recommend! But tough for vegetarians

Overall highly recommended if you don’t have a lot of time but want to experience the highlights of the island! It’s a very very long day but definitely worth it if you’ve only got a day. My big caveat is for vegetarians. We knew lunch would be provided and it was, but it was a chicken salad with chicken removed. There’s a huge difference between lunch with filling protein and lunch without, so we were already much hungrier than the meat eaters. Making matters way worse, there were virtually no opportunities to buy food and by 7pm when we were all back at the ferry the one option was the bare bones cafe that had almost exclusively meat options (there was one fruit salad which we shared). 16 hours with a vegetable salad and a fruit salad to sustain you isn’t remotely enough; we wound up at Hungry Jack’s in Adelaide along with the other vegetarians at 10pm, haha. This feels like a big issue and one anyone with dietary restrictions should be aware of in advance! Definitely pack sandwiches and other hearty things with protein or you will be very hungry and grumpy.

  • A long day but worth it

Long day but worth it. Enjoyed the sights with driver Dave's great commentary. Loved seeing kangaroos and a koala in the wild. At Seal Bay we needed to be in smaller groups. We were a group of 35 and most missed out on the commentary. Lunch was a let down. A mound of lettuce with 3 slices of chicken with bread and mass produced cake slices served in a soulless barn. The visit with the Joey was fabulous. The wildlife park visit was good for kids.
