Join me as we explore Diocletian's Palace, delving into its origins, evolution over the centuries, and its deep connection to the city of Split. We’ll visit the palace’s surviving sections, which have stood for 17 centuries, and discover how other parts have been seamlessly integrated into the modern city built around it.

What To Expect
The Peristyle of Diocletian's Palace
We will start at the Peristyle of the Palace, learning about the history of Diocletian and how this palace came to be.
Diocletian Palace Substructures
We'll go through the free part of the substructures, and learn more of the palace's architecture and history. Optionally, should you decide to see more, you can buy the tickets for the museum part of the substructures and we'll go through the rest of them, which will add some 20 or so minutes to the tour.

5.00Mili was amazing. Hugely knowledgeable about the area and the history spanning 2000 years. I felt like there was no question he couldn’t answer. He conducted the tour at a pace that was leisurely but thorough in his stories and talking points. I couldn’t recommend him enough!

5.00Mili was a an excellent tour guide. He was very knowledgeable and especially accommodating and helpful. As he explained the history, he showed computer generated photos of how it probably looked originally. He helped navigate the crowds and even took a few pics for me because he’s very tall! When the tour ended he walked us over to a place to have lunch. Book the Chill Walking tour with Mili, you won’t regret

He’s an unassuming and thoughtful person who occasionally peppers his commentary with humor. He was happy to go into whatever level of detail we wanted without regard to a strict timetable.

5.00With only one short day in Split we realized that our printed self-guided walking tour would insufficient to give us the real story of the tales and history related to the highlight of Split: Diocletian’s Palace. How lucky for us that we were able to find Mili, who educated and definitely entertained us for nearly 2 hours as we learned the good, the bad and the ugly/a bit gross of this fascinating place Mili had Game of Thrones inside info at the ready, but non GOT fans like us were also super happy. His English is perfect, with a few groaner puns thrown in, and it was a delight to have him show us his city’s masterpiece and hear about its evolution 10 of 10
