It's America's Founding story! Plimoth Patuxet Museums is a living history museum that tells the story of the historic events of America's founding story: the arrival of the Pilgrims in 1620; the Mayflower Compact (founding document U.S. Constitution), relationship with the Wampanoag Nation and the First Thanksgiving.
There are 3 unique exhibit locations at Plimoth Patuxet Museums. You may visit exhibits on different days.

o Plimoth Grist Mill, STEM and History program for all ages!
o Plimoth Patuxet (main campus) includes the Henry Hornblower Visitor Center (orientation film in theater and Thanksgiving exhibit in the Gallery), Historic Patuxet Homesite, 17th-Century English Village, Craft Center (Plimoth artisans), Rare Breeds Animals.
Seven retail stores thru-out the three campuses that sell Plimoth & local artisan items.
Plentiful Cafe at Plimoth Patuxet that offers 17th-century and modern selections.

What To Expect
Plimoth Patuxet Museums
It's a journey 400 years back in time! You are living history, not just watching a reeactment in our recreation of the early English Pilgrim settlement (17th-Century English Village); learn about the Indigenouse heritage of the Northeast from contemporary interpreters whose people have lived here for over 12,000 years at the Historic Patuxet Homesite. For your enjoyment, there is a cafe in the Visitor Center that serves 17th-century and modern favorites. To remember your visit, we have a wide variety of Plimoth artisan-made and local New England items for sale in four retail shops. Visiting during America's 250th Anniversary - Revolutionary Ideas Started Here! You can't understand the late 18th-century without its 17th-century (and, really, earlier!) beginnings. Come visit and learn the historical roots of the United States social, economic, and politial systems where the ideas self-government are embodied in the Mayflower Compact. We hope to see you soon! Plimoth Grist Mill
STEM and History program for all ages! Located in historic downtown Plymouth, a short walk from the waterfront through Brewster Gardens is the Plimoth Grist Mill. A working reproduction of the mill built by Pilgrim John Jenney, in the original location along Town Brook, you will learn about the operations of the waterfed powered mill, and the ecology of Town Brook. For those who love to bake, stop in to the retail store to purchase freshly stone-ground cornmeal and Sampe (Grits). On Saturday afternoons, the mill stones are operational, the other days of the week, the millers are preparing the cornmeal by sifting, willowing and preparing the stones for the next run. Try your hand at milling with the immersive exhibits in the lower exhibit of the mill. You may select to visit this location on the same day as you visit Plimoth Patuxet or a different day during the 2025 season. See you soon!

5.00This was an incredible experience! We did the Heritage package which included the grist mill and Mayflower. Everyone was so knowledgeable and entertaining to talk to and they clearly enjoyed it as well and were making jokes in character. We learned a lot and had a good time! I especially loved that they were preparing meals. I wish we could have eaten genuine historical samples! The actors really felt genuine and could roll with any questions we asked. The accents and word useage added believability. It took much longer than expected because we enjoyed talking with people so much. It was very interesting to see all the ways people lived and traveled. At the Mayflower they followed specific lives so you could see what they might think and feel. The gift shops were great too! Lots to look at and take home.

3.00Ok. Not many at Plimouth to talk with. One couple in Peter brown house. A couple women in garden. Patuxet village was ok.the grist mill was interesting. Frank took 20 minutes to explain how mill worked. Not worth it at all for mayflower. 10 minutes at most with very little to see. A few things on the floor. No one to explain eating, sleeping,etc. a waste of money

5.00My niece and nephew had the best time! They lived that they were allowed to touch, hold, try on everything in the homes of the village. The Grist Mill was fabulous, the women working there had so much enthusiasm and knowledg! You could tell they loved what they did. The Mayflower was also very fun and interesting. I would highly recommend this to anyone. We had a blast. After a very long day my niece said, I can't believe yhe day went do fast. Loved everything about this place!!!

5.00So much history, and all presented well. Staff shared information at most of the locations. The Plimoth Village was basically “just on our own” walking around (very few employees around to explain/answer questions). Perhaps they aren’t fully staffed on weekends. It was still a neat experience to feel like we walked where the Pilgrims had been/were on their ship (the nice replica of it).

5.00This is an excellent living history park. The village is an impressive and accurate reconstruction of the dwellings and farms of the first European settlers. The staff are helpful and wear period-specific attire, and even do short informative skits. Wear comfortable walking shoes and have fun!

4.00The village tour is very interesting with actors in period costumes. The same goes for the Mayflower, but it is very quick to see! However, the mill, in my opinion, has no interest! So if you have little time, you can skip the latter.

5.00This was a real surprise to us. The Mayflower 2 was an amazing and wonderful experience. To think that 108 "Pilgrims" lived for the entire voyage in that small space. The ship was smaller than I anticipated. I'm excited that they will sail this ship to Boston for the 250 anniversary celebration. The museum was better than almost any other museum I have experienced. It was like stepping back in time. Having a Native and separate Pilgrim area was a start reality check. Things were very different. The people who represented each area were so in character. The stories they would tell were great. My wife asked on Pilgrim how they all got along. His response included that they had two new groups come over recently and it's still a struggle. It was a struggle to live there. I would highly recommend this for all ages. We had 5th Graders in part of our tour and they asked great questions and their eyes were so wide during their experience.
