What To Expect
Fort Hays Old West Town and Dinner Show
Check in at Fort Hays Headquarters between 7:30-7:45am where you get your paper tickets for your breakfast, bus assignment and your assigned seats for the Chuckwagon Supper and Show. Then go get your all you can eat cowboy breakfast. Nothing better than home made cowboy pancakes, biscuits and gravy, sausage links with a hot cup of coffee to get the day started.
Mount Rushmore National Memorial
The bus departs at 9am and heads for Mount Rushmore! You will have a little over an hour to look around at your own convenience and enjoy the sites and beauty that you came to South Dakota for. We stop here first because Mount Rushmore is at it's best in the morning sun. Gutzon Borglum carved this mountain facing east towards the morning sun and intended it to be viewed this way.

Disappointing and irresponsible

2.00Bill, the driver and guide, was irresponsible. He put all the passengers and other cars in danger. He needs to decide if he is a guide or a pastor/entertainer! It seems that the main priority of this company is to push Jesus. As a Christian I found this attitude in support of Christian nationalism very offensive. His subtle references to white supremacy were totally inappropriate. i’m disappointed that TripAdvisor recommends this company.

5.00What a great experience. The drive combined with stops and excursions made a perfect blend. Pastor Dan was just what others spoke in their reviews. He was entertaining and knowledgeable. Thank you for a beautiful day! I should mention his driving didn’t scare this person who has an extreme fear of heights. I know, why did I take a vacation in the mountains, I could because I was safe in his hands and in His hands. 😎

5.00If you are on the fence about this tour, just do it! Ken was an excellent tour guide. The breakfast and dinner show was also awesome! The only complaint that we have is at Mt. Rushmore, we did not get to see the show or the exhibits. Although, we did do the hike and pictures with the flags. The Needles Highway with the tunnels was amazing. Glad I was not driving. Crazy Horse was also very impressive. You will not be disappointed with this tour!

5.00Dan was our bus driver and he did an outstanding job! The tour was educational. Dan provided history and how the geography developed in the Black Hills. The breakfast and dinner were great! The dinner show was awesome and very entertaining! Two of the band members were inductees of the South Dakota rock and roll hall of fame. The music the band played was outstanding! This tour is worth taking, especially that someone else is driving.

5.00Started the day with a great breakfast followed by a very entertaining bus driver/ tour guide. Ken provided lots of entertaining stories and lots of very useful information. We thoroughly enjoyed visiting all the sites without having to drive and park. We enjoyed everything about the day. Supper was delicious and the dinner show was excellent. The musicians were fantastic!

5.00Far exceeded our expectations!! Our bus driver Ken was very knowledgeable and shared mostly true stories the entire day. Be careful with him driving through those narrow tunnels though. ;) The variety show after the chuckwagon dinner was unbelievable! The band was amazing and the entire family enjoyed it.
