With us you experience India up close and authentic with an experienced and knowledgeable companion. Rajendra comes from Khajuraho, he shows and explains a lot that escapes others. The tour begins with the pick up from the hotel. The subsequent drive in the car or with the motorcycle (especially recommended) over the villages with fields and beautiful landscapes is eventful and very worth seeing. We stop at some of the freestanding temples (e.g., South Group) and enjoy stopping to see buffaloes bathing in the river or watching the farmers play at work and children. With your guide you will learn interesting facts about the country and its people, the waterfall, the surrounding villages, agriculture, local cuisine, Indian history, Hinduism, yoga and much more.

Your travel companion will pick you up at the hotel or at the meeting point. Then you can either go by motorbike (for individuals, or for a surcharge also for several people bookable) or the car. The journey leads through small, tranquil villages with many fields and animals. Here, agriculture is often still operated manually, buffalo graze in front of historic temples and families meet at the fountain or in the shade of large, old trees. Historic temples and small rivers are also on the way. Soon you will reach the waterfall, with its steep cliffs a canyon. From a viewing platform you have a wonderful view of this beautiful place. There is time for a chai or a snack in the small outdoor café. And in the small museum there are some nice photos (local animals & plants, as well as flood photos) and a model of the surroundings to see. Afterwards you can return with the chosen means of transport or the tour can be extended and combined with our other offers (eg hike at the waterfall, where crocodiles can be observed depending on the season, boat trip on the river Ken, sightseeing in Khajuraho, guided tour of the old village Khajuraho, escort to massage, henna, cooking in traditional Indian house & kitchen, restaurant visit, market, yoga classes, etc.)

The Raneh Fall is a natural waterfall on the Ken River, located in Khajuraho. The Ken River forms a 5 kilometres long, and 30 metres deeply carved canyon, made of pure crystalline granite, in varying shades of colours ranging from pink and red to grey. It is located in the Chhatarpur district, near Khajuraho, in Madhya Pradesh State of India.

I booked for a motorcycle ride to the falls (which are actually now a beautiful canyon) and found myself accompanied on a thousand adventures with Raj! A friend, more than a guide, who took me almost everywhere. Temples, historic city center, clothes shops, Ayurvedic massages, jewelry, all according to your requests and needs! He also speaks German and is a Yoga teacher, but what matters, for me as an Italian, is that he made me a delicious coffee with a 100% Made in Italy mocha at home! Ram ram, see you in Italy Raj, thank you!

I met Raj the night before at the Western Temples. He speaks German very well and has proven to be a very competent guide. The next day I visited the impressive temples by myself, as I wanted enough time for good photos. In the late morning Raj took me to the school where I completed a painting project in 2007. I am with my old VW bus (T3 Syncro Bj. 92) drove from Austria overland along the Silk Road to India and had children paint impressions of their culture on a 27m long piece of fabric in each country. He then showed me his village and told me a lot about religion and culture. Afterwards we ate delicious kicheri in his parents' house, which was very good for my stomach. Afterwards we drove his scooter to the Raneh waterfall, which impressed me a lot together with the massive canyon. After a full and interesting day we said goodbye and the next day I went to Prayagraj for the Kumbh Mela, the biggest religious festival on earth.

The motorcycle tour with Raj was one I won’t soon forget. From riding through the wilderness to the crocodile reserve, to taking in waterfall views, to traveling through local villages, to exploring his home town of Khajuraho, the experience was excellent throughout. As a solo traveler he ensured I felt safe through the journey. We shared some delicious meals and and he even helped me to transfer hotels. I would venture to say I have made a new friend today and hope to travel together again soon.

The day with Raj was truly unforgettable. He is an extremely professional and hospitable guide who not only knows the surroundings like his waistcoat, but also has an impressive sense of what his guests want. He showed a flexibility and attention that enriched my day far beyond my expectations. Thanks to his empathetic leadership, I was able to establish a deep and authentic connection to the local culture and people.

Raj and his cousin (“Lucky”- real name Aditya, the sun god) gave us an amazing trip into the hinterland of Khajuraho. A trip to the waterfalls, through the local villages and school. We had the chance to meet the villagers and ride one of their white horses. Raj ( who speaks English and German fluently) provided an exciting ride for both of us - slaloming around the cow traffic jams and narrow village streets SAFELY! Both riders were attentive to our specific requests to tailor the tour -locations and time and offered an opportunity to see “real” country life! A complimentary experience to the education of the temples. This is a must !

I was on the motorcycle in daytime with Raj and his brother to the falls. It was dry season, so you could look at the depth of the canyon.Raj could also show me nice bathing spots at the edge of the river and alert me to sights along the way.

I had the great pleasure to experience Rajendra Dwivedi as a tour guide in Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Rhajastan for nine days. The round trip included Khajuraho, Orchha, Agra, Fatehpur Sikri, Bharatpur, Ranthambore, Jaipur. Beside the more touristic sights we also visited many hidden gems off the beaten track. Raj is very dedicated and professional: always very friendly and pleasant, polite and courteous, obliging and helpful. His German and English language skills are excellent. I constantly appreciated and enjoyed his company. He has profound and extensive knowledge in different fields such as cultural and natural history, architecture, art, religion and knows the region very well. His organizational talents always guaranteed a smooth course of the journey. I could count on his constant support and help throughout the journey. I am already looking forward to the next trip with him!

I visited Khajuraho for the second time in February 2019. Rajendra Dwivedi was again my guide. This time we took the motorbike around quiet, narrow roads, small villages, fields, temples and the waterfall site. It takes about one hour to get there along beautiful scenery. It was sunny and very clear, just before spring. This time of year there is no water in the waterfall, but this jeans you can see the canyons very clearly, absolutely beautiful!! A small kiosk serves refreshments - good to have a native speaker with you!! A bit further down the river one can take a hike with a park guide with a good chance of seeing crocodiles; so don’t walk alone. Rajendra knows all about the area, as it is his home town. He is a very friendly and careful guide, and very informative and super helpful. Riding by motorbike was great fun, perfect for solo travelers. The trip can also be made by car or a couple of motorbikes.
