  • Almost perfect

    NorthStar21168407782,Jun 13, 2026

    - Review from Tripadvisor

    4.00

Our tour was amazing, seeing Mt Everest was an experience of a lifetime. Our guide Dickey made the tour interesting and enjoyable. Learning about the history of the places we visited enhanced our experience. Mr Feng was a very good and safe driver. The tour covers the highlight of Tibet, visiting Patola Palace and seeing the funeral stupa of the 5th Dalai Lama was impressive. Being able to see monks debating and chanting and experiencing local teahouse culture. The only disappointment in an otherwise great trip was the drop-off schedule which made us have to wait in the airport for more than 4 hours.

  • Only seeing is believing - truly exceptional

We had prepared ourselves for this trip by reading up on Tibetan culture and of course (thought) we knew about Mount Everest - but the experience itself was incomparably better. Drepung Monastery was a perfect start as it gave us a first impression both of the (breathtaking) breadth of the landscape as well as the depth and intensity of the culture. Potala Palace was stunning and so were the temples in Lhasa. Driving to Everest Base Camp the Yamdrok Lake provided beautiful views of a crystal clear mountain lake as well as a large number of young influencers posing brightly on cars. The ride to the base camp was a long one and some of the restrooms along the way also were "once in a lifetime" experiences but it was all worth it for the spectacular view of Everest in the evening and the even more specatcular one next morning shortly after sunrise. A visit to a very non-touristy teahouse in Shikatse perfectly rounded off the experience. None of this would have been have as enjoyable though without our always cheerful and highly knowledgeable tour guide Dickey or our driver Mr Feng who navigated us safely up and down various mountain passes.

  • Lhasa to Mt Everest base camp

Essentially going from Lhasa to MT Everest base camp was overall a road trip with so many things to see and experience outside siteseeing. Long bus ride felt really good becouse you get to see real Tibet and people. Seeing Mt Everest made me remember how I felt when I was small boy reading about mountainers and Shangrli La. And I had the chance to see it in person. Unique experience that made me feel so privileged and happy. We had a wonderful and patient guide Dickey that had a such a positive energy that reflected on a whole group and that was important since we were traveling for a week. Also she gave us so many good advice on how to avoid altitude sickens and there was oxigen bottles all the time around that made me feel safe and not to worry about a thing. Also all the praises to our driver Mr Fang that navigate narrow passes and all the roads so that we could focus on scenery, Himalayas and Tibet. Trylly wonderful experience.

  • A Once-in-a-Lifetime Lhasa and Everest Experience

10/10 experience and one of the highlights of my whole trip. The Lhasa and Everest tour was incredible from start to finish. Seeing Everest in person was honestly unforgettable. The view alone made the whole trip worth it. But what made the tour even better was everything around it: learning about the history of Tibet, visiting the monasteries, seeing the monks in Shigatse, and getting a deeper understanding of their way of life. Lhasa itself was amazing too. Visiting Potala Palace was a huge highlight, and I also loved seeing the other main sights like Jokhang Temple, Barkhor Street, Drepung Monastery and Sera Monastery. Each place added something different and gave such a strong sense of Tibetan history, culture and spirituality. Our guide, Dickey, was amazing. She was knowledgeable, friendly, patient, super fun, funny, and full of bubbly energy. She really helped bring the history and culture of Tibet to life, while also making sure everyone was looked after and having a fantastic experience. Our driver, Mr Feng, was also excellent. The roads and distances on this tour are no joke, but he drove safely, calmly, and professionally the whole way, which made a big difference. The group we had was amazing too and really added to the whole experience. Sharing those moments with great people made the journey feel even more special. The whole trip felt like much more than just sightseeing. It was a mix of amazing landscapes, culture, history, incredible views, and moments that I’ll remember for a long time. I came away with a much better appreciation for Tibet and its people. Absolutely recommend this tour to anyone thinking about doing it. It’s a proper once-in-a-lifetime experience.

  • Tibet Vista was great - Tibet is hard though, better if you're healthy.

    - Review from Tripadvisor

I gave this company 5-stars because this is a review of them. But, I feel it necessitates a review of Tibet as well (which wouldn't be 5-stars): Tibet Vista met all my needs on the trip. A special shout-out to Lobsang, our truly effervescent tour guide. He absolutely worked his bum off making sure that we all had a good time, and went into immense detail on the various stop-over vists to temples, etc... The driver was great too - making sure we had hot ginger tea at every opportunity - and his driving was top-notch too on the country roads to EBC (and back). All the paperwork was fine and taken care of in the appropriate timeframes - sending our visas to our hotel in Xi-an before landing in Lhasa. I saw one review that said they were disappointed with the tour - it's 2-days acclimatization in Lhasa, then 2 days (400 miles) traveling to ECB and, basicially, an evening and a morning at the site, then, 2 days traveling back to Lhasa. This is true, but it's not a ding on Tibet Vista - you need to know this before you go. We had booked a room with a view, and Tibet Vista contacted me to inform me that it would be partially blocked because they are building a nunnery in front of the window, even sending a picture to show us. We decided to keep the room since we could still see Everest, but that was a nice touch. So, is it worth it? In short, yes, but it's painful: Largely because Lhasa is 12,000 feet above sea level, and EBC itself is 17,000 feet up. Everyone is different, but, for me - 61 yr old healthy male - I experienced dizziness as soon as I landed in Lhasa airport, and it lasted for almost three days. My oxygen saturation dropped to the 70s (not good) for the entire week I was there, and I found it difficult to go up steps, even a few - and there are lots and lots of steps. Having said all that, I wasn't even close to fainting, it was just uncomfortable, and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. It's a bucket-list holiday, and you kinda feel like you're out climbing Everest with the lack of oxygen, so if that's not your thing, there are beaches to lie on elsewhere in the world. :) In short, do it if you're healthy. Waking up in the room in the Rongbuk Monastery, pulling back the curtain, and seeing Everest in dazzling sunshine is a memory that stays with you...

This trip was a great experience for me. From the pre departure to end of the tour, the staffs are very efficient and attentive. They will response to my queries very fast. The skilful driver is able to drive us with care in a long ride. The tour guide is very friendly and knowledgeable. She is able to brief us the history of Tibet and the monasteries and settled all the administrative stuffs throughout the tour. Apart from adjusting to the high altitude sickness of headaches, I would recommend this tour for those who would like to know about Tibet.

What an amazing journey and not to mention the final destination of EBC. While the places, the hotels and the food were all perfectly organised, the people who took us on the journey made all the difference. Our jovial guide Lobsang was the perfect mix of knowledge and fun loving spirit. Highly highly recommend choosing Lobsang as a guide if possible. Driver Nima was also a safe and masterful driver. Couldn’t imagine a better way to explore Tibet.
