We found the tour fascinating. James was an excellent, friendly, and entertaining guide with spooky (but not TOO scary) ghost stories and lots of detailed historical knowledge woven in. We learned a lot about life in Wilmington in bygone eras, and the ghosts made it more fun.

My sister and niece enjoyed the tour and described it as an informative walk through Wilmington that included many interesting ghost stories and historical details they had not previously known. We paid $32 per person, though I wish there had been an option to receive the lower $26 rate since I had to leave the tour shortly after it began. Once we started walking, I realized that the 9:00 p.m. tour time was too dark for my eyesight, so I was unable to continue. My sister and niece, however, remained on the tour and had a great experience. Our guide, Victoria, was friendly, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic. She shared a wealth of information and even extended the tour by an additional 40 minutes, going above and beyond to provide a memorable experience. The following day, we revisited the Cotton Exchange, where my sister pointed out several locations and shared some of the fascinating stories and historical information she had learned during the tour.

Our tour guide was fantastic! The three 11 year old kids with us had an amazing time and can't stop talking about it. Worth every second and every dollar.

We showed up on time and the guide was 15 minutes late. When she arrived, she did not apologize about being late, and explained she just wrapped up a pub crawl tour, and she had no lantern, and was wearing a medical boot on her foot - which surprised me because who leads a walking tour with an injured foot. She was slurring her words and was generally sloshy in her delivery. Her corset was halfway untied in the front and she fixed it after she realized it was untied. She arrived with 2 people who she said had signed up for this tour during her previous tour. So a total of 9 people started on the tour including my group. However as she started her monologue, those two people said they were going to the bathroom and never returned. As we proceeded to the next stop on the tour, two other people just walked away from the tour as she explained she was drunk and that she needed the alcohol for the pain in her foot. At this point, just my group and two other people were left. Those people who left were the smart ones. In her defense she got sober about 25 minutes into the tour and then it proceeded normally and she was very knowledgeable and very friendly. However the tour started at 9:15 pm and ended at 11 pm so I think she perhaps didn't do a good job of telling the stories succinctly because I think the tour was only supposed to last an hour and we were starving by the end - we had planned to get food at 10 pm when the tour finished. Overall this was the biggest disaster of a walking tour I've ever been on. Probably just a bad day for that guide (who I won't name to protect her job). I would recommend bailing if anything similar happens to you, and then asking for a refund. At least I got a crazy story out of the experience.

The tour was 90 minutes, which I think was too long. We walked all around downtown (a significant amount of walking) and would only hear short stories at each stop. I would have liked to walk less and hear better stories. It was totally fine! A nice way to spend time with family but not the best ghost tour I've been on.
