Join us on a fun-filled and informative electric bike tour of Asheville! Approximately 3-hours long, this e-bike tour is the perfect way to experience the city’s charm and learn about its fascinating history. You’ll see Asheville’s noteworthy architectural gems, take in the stunning scenery from carefully chosen viewpoints, and hear the stories behind Asheville’s best historical sites.
The electric pedal assist and throttles on our e-bikes allow you to easily ride up Asheville’s steep hills! Your expert guide will lead you safely through city streets, bike greenways, and quiet, picturesque neighborhood roads. There is no better way to experience how Asheville has changed in recent years, what makes it so special today, and what’s in store for the years ahead than joining the Flying Bike on our award-winning Downtown Asheville E-bike Tour.

The electric bikes will take all of the hard work out of your ride. We routinely have riders that span the spectrum of age and fitness. The main requirement is that you be coordinated and fit enough to balance a 55-pound bike. A training and practice session is provided at the start of each tour. For people that would like to go on the tour but are not able to balance a bike, it is possible to arrange a ride on the back of one of our stretch cargo bikes that will be driven by another person in your party.
Legally, you must be 16 years or older to operate an electric bike. Guides reserve the right to request proof of age of any rider. Riders should also be at least 5 feet tall to operate their own bike. Guests younger than 16 may ride as a passenger with an adult in their group on the back of one of our cargo bikes or in a child seat (for children ages 1-6 or up to 48.5 pounds).
Tours are subject to favorable weather conditions. If there is light rain in the forecast but none at the start of the tour, we will decide together at the time of the tour whether to ride. We will provide rain ponchos and rain covers for the storage bags on the bikes to protect your belongings. If canceled due to poor weather, you will be given the option of an alternative date or full refund.

4.00We really enjoyed the tour as we had never been to Ashville. We stopped at a mall and hotel that were both super cool. Josh was a great guide. We would do the tour again. We were disappointed by a couple things. First, we both had white e-bikes and they did not function as they should. We have a lot of experience with e-bikes as we have owned a couple for about 5 years now. My bike was really hard to pedal with out the power boost and power levels one and two didn't feel any different. Power level three always worked as well as the throttle. I ride a 50 lb e-bike and it is easy to pedal with the motor off. I don't know why this bike was so hard to pedal. My wife also had problems with her bike and ended up only using the throttle. Both bikes had very squeaky brakes. I talked to Josh about my bike. He couldn't find anything wrong with it. The tour was supposed to be from 9:30-12:30. One couple were running late so the tour didn't start until 10am and we got back to the store about 12:23 so we did not get our three hours. We really liked Josh but we feel he should dress a little more professionally. I would not accept any white e-bikes if you do do a tour with this company. We would give the tour and Josh a 5 start rating and the bikes a 2 star.

5.00Did this trip for a second time with this company and they’re as good as they were before. The experience itself is wonderful and nearly effortless. The guides are fun, personable, knowledgeable and conscientious about safety. I’m local and if guests come into town I’ll suggest this trip and go along, enjoying the ride.

He was friendly, patient and knowledgeable of the area. THey supply you with everything you need, just bring water. I woud recommend this tour for anyone.
