Our guide was Nicole, and she was a terrific guide. We had five stops at which we got tastes of local cuisine, plus a wine-tasting stop. (We took the tour on a Sunday, when one of the restaurants was closed, so the wine-tasting was a substitute.) After the second stop, we strolled along the Providence River, and Nicole stopped twice to share some stories about Providence's history. I appreciated that all of the stops were at locally-owned places, and that we got to taste a diversity of food and wine.

Michelle was very entertaining, knowledgeable and personable. The walk was easy, with plenty of time to rest. We liked all the food we had. The wine tasting and beer flights were good. My one suggestion would be to let people know the first stop they ate meeting at.

We had an wonderful time on the Downcity Food Tour in Providence with Michelle. It was a beautiful Saturday afternoon, and our group was full of friendly, fun people, which made the experience even better. Michelle is knowledgeable about Providence and Rhode Island history, culture and the culinary scene. She’s witty, welcoming, and brings the city’s stories to life! The 6 food stops were all delicious, and the ice cream stop was an especially sweet surprise along the way. We love taking these tours because we always learn something new and discover restaurants we might not have tried otherwise. Thank you, Michelle & Rhode Island Red Food Tours, for a fun and memorable experience. We’re already looking forward to our next tour! p.s. this was my 4th tour with you folks!

We really enjoyed this food tour. We tried some things we probably wouldn't have tried on our own. One of the stops was directly across from our hotel but we never would have thought to go in because it was branded a tea house. Who knew we could get excellent chicken and sweet potato fries there?! Michelle kept things light and lively - and made us laugh. Her affection for her city was obvious and infectious. Enough food to satisfy, and Sunday tours have a stop at a wine shop for a tasting and charcuterie!

This was an excellent way to spend a Sunday afternoon! Michelle was our tour guide and she was phenomenal. A theatre major who grew up in Providence, this job is perfect for her! She was knowledgeable, entertaining, and personable. We stopped at 5 places and supported local businesses of many cultures. We tried RI clam chowder and clam cakes, boba tea, west African food, and pretzels. The historical facts were interesting and well dispersed as we walked around the city. I highly recommend this experience for those that like to explore and learn while having fun.

Jack was a character and full of stories of the Providence food scene. Loved how diverse the food was and that they were all local businesses. There wasn’t a bad bite in the bunch! Definitely the highlight of my weekend in the city.
