This nature walk takes you through serene woodlands, along craggy cliffs and beautiful coves. You may spot otters, seals and sealions, deer and birds. This is a mecca for taking memorable photos. Hearing the amazing human history of this unique piece of land will be part of your experience.

What To Expect
Hike along the magnificent, rocky shore and unique bays while watching out for otters, seals, sealions as well as birds and deer. Get to know the plants, the sea and land animals and hear the fascinating stories of the Portuguese whalers, Chinese fishermen, Japanese abalone divers who called this home. Our guides share the amazing story of Point Lobos almost became a city, and how it was saved from that fate by A.M. Allan who recognized its magic.

The Best Way to See Point Lobos

5.00This is THE way to see Point Lobos. Parking for Point Lobos was a nightmare sun up to sun down nearly every day, with people parking along the road miles from the park entrance. Having the tour means you basically have a reserved parking space just across the road and can avoid the whole mad parking mess. And Monica is the best tour guide; she's full of interesting stories and information about the plants and animals and coastline, and she is very sweet. There's no need to mess with trail maps or figure out how to identify poison oak or buy expensive binos for viewing the seals and otters when you're with her (she has a great telescope). This tour was a huge highlight of our five-day trip to the Monterey Bay/Carmel area!

5.00We throughly enjoyed our walk. The weather was perfect. Mother Nature was in her glory. Our guide Monica provided us with the local history of the Point, giving us a perspective of the evolution of the Point and the various people and creatures who inhabited and/or continue to inhabit the area. If you are a person who enjoys learning the history of a community, this is the tour for you. This Point Lobos offers beautiful scenery, plenty of wildlife sightings and Monica. Worth every penny.

5.00Monica is a delight. Not only is she extremely knowledgeable, but her personal history with Point Lobos and the Monterey Peninsula goes back to the early 1970s. She has a great passion for the area and is always happy to answer questions and share from her vast knowledge of the flora and fauna of the region. I highly recommend this tour!

5.00Monica was informative, funny and spry! Her knowledge of the area was outstanding and she kept the group at a good pace. She spent time talking with all the participants and pointed out wildlife we would not have seen without her guidance. Thoroughly enjoyed the Lobos Nature Reserve and her tour! Highly recommend!

5.00Our tour with Monica was fantastic. Monica is a historian, preservationist and author. She possesses in depth knowledge about Point Lobos, and surrounding areas. We leaned so much from her we will book another tour with her when we return.
