5.00We really enjoyed the Hungry Whales food tour! The guides were helpful and knowledgeable and fun. We learned lots about the island while enjoying visits to shops, restaurants, the farmers market and indulging on specialties of the Azores.

5.00Our guide was very good and provided a lot of information on the fruits and vegetables grown in the Azores, the cheese production, honey production, meat production, etc. He also talked quite a bit about the history, weather and culture of the islands.

3.00We had a great experience - tried new foods, learned about their origins. I'm rating this as a 3/5 because it truly is just tastings. For the cost, we were hoping to be a little more full by the end. I'm also a vegetarian and was told there were vegetarian options as well, but there were no replacements, I just didn't get to try three things.

They were incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about the area, providing an in-depth tour filled with local history, culture, and fabulous food. We sampled a wonderful variety of foods, and they were very accommodating with food allergies, which we truly appreciated. Communication was excellent from start to finish, and the meeting location was easy to find. The experience was so enjoyable that we would absolutely book another tour if we were staying longer. Highly recommend this tour if you are visiting São Miguel! Thank you!!
