This was the best group tour I’ve ever been on. Walks galore (often two a day), rocky mountain ranges glowing in the sunset, camping under the stars, swimming in wild waterholes. We scrambled up rocky hillsides to see indigenous rock art, spotted brolgas at El Questro and dingoes beside the road. A startled jabiru flew alongside the truck for a magical moment. A helicopter flight over Purnululu left me in tears of joy (true story). Food was plentiful and everyone pitches in to set up, cook and pack down. Our guide Martin was really lovely, fabulous at creating groupness with a disparate bunch of people, entertaining on the longer drive days, knowledgeable about the Kimberley and utterly indefatigable.

Martin is a one of a kind guide who has incredible stamina, a great sense of humour and a true understanding of the Kimberley region. The swims at the end of the hikes made it all the more enjoyable. The sunrise at Lake Argyle was amazing to experience. Best value for money. 10/10.

Amazing and one of the best tours I have done. Seeing the Kimberley’s at its rawest. Martin our guide was knowledgeable, dedicated, comprehensive in his explanations and instructions and inclusive with everyone, considering we had a diverse group. Martin’s hard work and dedication to ensuring we got the best experience for the trip didn’t go unnoticed. Martin is an excellent tour guide and well suited to the role. Camping on Lake Argyle to walking through the Bungle Bungles for sunrise were just a couple of special highlights which I will treasure forever. Thank you Martin for showing the Kimberley’s in this very special and unique way. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to see this part of Australia by getting out of their comfort zone and getting a bit dirty and bruised, taking away unforgettable memories. To get the full experience this trip is for someone who is reasonably fit and agile.

I highly recommend the tour. We saw so many amazing sites, some truly off the beaten track, did great walks into gorges where we could swim, saw rock art, camped under the stars, and so much more. Thanks to the small size of the group and our cheerful tour guide, the group had a good chemistry. You need to be reasonably fit for the walks, but different types of fitness are catered for.

Broome to Darwin through the Kimberley took me through a stunning landscape treasured by its custodians and I was lucky to experience a little of the magic. The raw beauty cannot help touch and change my perception of country. This sunburnt country, a land of sweeping plains, of rugged mountain ranges touched by flooding rains. Kapalga travel took me to places I had only dreamed of. Now I have seen them. Thank you Martin our tour guide and Lucy and Adam. You should be proud of the experience you give your travelers on your magical journey.

Superb experience from beginning to end. Our guide has seemingly limitless energy and enthusiasm, along with amazing inside knowledge of the natural and cultural wonders. Nothing was too much trouble if it added to our fun. We really felt we were getting a unique experience, seeing the Gibb River Road region and Purnululu - the Bungle Bungles - in a way very people do.

Just completed the 10 day Broome to Darwin tour commencing 19/6/24 led by Dan. What an amazing adventure we all had. Dan was a fantastic knowledgeable tour guide who went above and beyond to ensure we all had the best time. Up early every day to beat the heat and capture the best of the day without crowds. Fabulous itinerary, amazing sights and memories. The whole tour group hit it off really well. Loved sleeping in swags or tents under the stars. Highly recommend doing this tour instead of risking damage to your vehicles on the Gibb and the Bungles. Absolutely great value for money and met new friends from around the world. Thanks Kapalga travel / Kimberley 4wd Adventures.

Martin, our guide's experience & passion for the Kimberleys enabled our group aged late 20's -early 70s to gel well...socially,cooking,setting up camp and walking together. His daily briefings on the next days activities were detailed & he ensured these were suited to our individual capabilities. Great food- hot breakfast options, fresh salad veges for lunch, dinners included camp oven delights. The regular early starts were compensated by cooler walking temperatures and having the popular trail or spring to ourselves. The management team were quick to respond to questions. Very inspiring, evidenced by lots of pics taken and many paintings to make. Thanks for a great experience.

I really enjoyed this once-in-a-lifetime adventure. The scenery is wonderful. We visited many amazing sites including several that were not marked. Our tour leaderJimmy, was most informative and had a huge amount of energy (he did a lot of cooking, all the driving, managing us so that we were ready for each activitiy, etc). We did experience a couple of flats and other vehicle issues (as you should expect on the punishing Gibb River Road). Jimmy handled these with aplomb. Unexpectedly, this added to the adventure.
