What To Expect
Experience dolphins in Mauritius in a unique and respectful way. During this guided kayak tour you'll observe wild bottlenose and spinner dolphins quietly, in their natural habitat. Start your morning at our base in Tamarin, where your guide will introduce you to kayaking and safety essentials. No previous experience is required. As the sun rises over the west coast, paddle into the calm waters of Tamarin Bay, one of the best places to encounter dolphins in Mauritius. Moving silently by kayak, you’ll have the chance to witness these incredible animals naturally, without disturbance. Spend around two hours exploring the bay with your guide. If dolphins are present, you’ll approach them respectfully, following strict guidelines to ensure a safe and ethical interaction. Unlike many boat tours, our approach is designed to minimize impact on wildlife: No chasing or disturbing dolphins Quiet, non-motorized approach Small groups Respectful observation only Important note: Dolphins are wild animals and sightings cannot be guaranteed. If they are not present, your guide will take you along an alternative route exploring the Tamarin River, known for its birdlife and peaceful setting.

5.00Eliza was an incredible guide—kind, knowledgeable, patient, and professional. She made us feel completely safe from start to finish and clearly knew exactly what she was doing. Her passion for the ocean and its wildlife really shone through, making the experience even more special. We had the unforgettable privilege of a pod of spinner dolphins swimming towards us, with no speedboats nearby—just us, the open sea, a breathtaking sunrise, and these beautiful creatures in their natural environment. It was a magical and peaceful moment that we will never forget. I would highly recommend this tour, especially over the speedboat options. It is such an ethical and respectful way to observe wild dolphins without chasing, hounding, or disturbing them. Being on kayaks allows you to appreciate these amazing animals while preserving their natural behaviour and habitat. During the sea outing, the dolphins honored us with their presence (it should not be forgotten that if they do not want to, we will not see them). The sunrise between the mountains.... We have already done other activities with Yanature; they are top-notch. Go ahead without hesitation.

5.00We had such an amazing experience kayaking with the doplphins. Our guide Gilles knew exactly where they would be and made sure that we were taken care of through out the trip. He also took great pictures for us.

4.00We had a lovely experience watching the sunset over Tamarin Bay. Although we didn’t get to see any dolphins that day, our guide Theo did an amazing job at making the trip enjoyable and memorable. The only thing I would have appreciated was having a plan B in case the dolphins didn’t appear. I understood beforehand that sightings aren’t guaranteed, but it would have been nice to have the option to kayak around the bay or river instead of waiting. Overall, I would still recommend this experience, especially as a unique way to try to see dolphins in their natural environment. But if you’re mainly interested in the kayaking aspect, you may want to consider a different tour option.

5.00We had a great experience with our guide Eliza. She did a great job and we were able to see some monkeys at the river. Unfortunately, the waves were too high for the dolphins, so we took the alternative route along the Tamarin River, which was also very beautiful.

5.00Had the most incredible kayak trip watching dolphins—truly an unforgettable experience! Theo was an amazing guide, so knowledgeable and made everything feel easy and special. Being out on the water like that was pure magic. What made it even better was how close we got to the dolphins—it felt so natural and respectful, nothing like crowded boat trips. The views of the coastline were absolutely stunning too. Honestly, I’d do this again in a heartbeat. Way better than any boat tour I’ve ever done—highly recommend!

We were lucky enough to see some dolphins, a wonderful sunrise, some of heavy rain - wich was actually very fun - and a great trip on the tamarin river. We would recommend this tour a 100%.
