Adventure yourself on an off-road journey through the Alentejo's "montado" (cork oak forest)! We offer you an option of driving tour, that will give you a wonderful overview of the forest as you plough through the dirt tracks of the farm. For those who have a passion for vintage cars, or simply a sense of history and adventure, you can opt for a tour in one of two 50-year-old Land Rovers, one an open top and the other a hard top. Your expert guides will stop at regular intervals to show you the highlights and explain in detail what makes the cork forest such an important and diverse ecosystem. Our guides, are guaranteed to enlighten (and entertain!) you at how little you knew about cork and its amazing properties!

Great experience! Fun ride, nicely paced, very educational. The cork forests and vineyards are obviously well-cared for in a sustainable way by passionate stewards. Our guide Ricardo (#2) was charming and knowledgeable. Highly recommend!

We had an incredible time on this tour. The scenery was beautiful and the information was very interesting. Our guide Ricardo, was very friendly, engaging, and knowledgeable. Also funny. Also very patient but firm with the transmission of the vintage Land Rover. We will definitely recommend this experience to family and friends. Thank you.

Fantastic tour, our guide was exceptionally knowledgeable, funny and easy to talk to. Never knew Cork would be such an interesting topic or versatile product

The entire program is a disappointment even though the guide Daniel was engaging. We went on the Classical Land Rover tour on 31st May 2025. The weather was great but the tour lacks depth in terms of an immersive experience. There is no opportunity to use the cork axe, no opportunity to see different cork trees in different maturing stage. While it may be difficult to witness the actual harvest, no attempt was made to show a customised video of how cork is harvested and process in the past and how differently it is done today. The existing tour is actually a waste of precious time in your travel vacation. All the information that was shared could easily be obtained online, what is needed is an immersive experience which is not there in this tour.

The meetup location is a winery. Inside you can see where the wines are bottled and barrels are stored. What you're really paying for is a journey by aged Land Rover into a nearby cork farm with your guide. You get to learn about the cork trees, how they are "harvested", and the various inter-related activities on the farm, such as how Iberian pigs are raised, that all work together to create a thriving ecosystem. Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable. The pace is fairly relaxed. You're just going along for the ride and getting out in a couple of places to look more closely at things. On subsequent days, we could recognize the difference between Cork and Holm Oak trees and identify virgin cork and in some places how long it was the trees were last harvested. It added another dimension to our trip. Finally, we opted for the lunch at a local restaurant afterwards. The restaurant had nice decor and the food was decent but didn't knock my socks off.

Celino made our cork trekking experience so worthwhile. He was knowledgeable, engaging, and enjoyable. We learned a lot about cork trees, their harvest, their environmental importance, and the integration of agricultural symbiosis as it relates to farming in Portugal. We would definitely recommend this tour and Celino!
