Thousand Islands Bridge

The Thousand Islands International Bridge (French: Pont des Mille-îles) is an American-maintained international bridge system over the Saint Lawrence River connecting northern New York in the United States with southeastern Ontario in Canada. Constructed in 1937, with additions in 1959, the bridges span the Canada–US border in the middle of the Thousand Islands region.

Boldt Castle and the Boldt Yacht House

Construction began on Boldt Castle in 1900 at the bidding of millionaire hotel magnate George C. Boldt as a tribute to his beloved wife Louise. Boldt Castle was designed as their summer dream home. A castle rivaling those of Europe, built on the St. Lawrence River, in the heart of the 1000 Islands. However it was not to be, Mrs. Boldt passed away suddenly just months before the completion of the castle. Mr. Boldt was inconsolable and immediately stopped all construction on Heart Island, leaving the property vacant for over seventy years.

Amazing tour with breathtaking views of castles, mansions, bridges and the St Lawrence River. We took this tour because we didn't know the 5h tour needed passports (which we found out outside of the refund window)

The boat tour was awesome to see all the houses on the different islands plus the viewing of Boldt Castle. The boat slowly goes around the castle so everyone has lots of time for pictures. The only problem I found was trying to hear the information played on the speakers while out on the deck. Volume really needs to be louder on the speakers that cover the outside decks. Overall the experience was very positive and worth the money.

There is a lot of hype created of the 1000 Islands Cruise. We took the 3 hours cruise. The scenery is pretty, but we thought it was long and a bit boring.
It is an extraordinary activity for family and friends.

Even though the sun is beautiful and shining, I recommend bringing a light jacket. Please arrive at least 15 minutes before departure. For the large RV, a parking spot will be indicated (9€) for the day, but it is not possible to sleep there overnight.
