If you’re on the fence about doing the Jackson Hole Via Ferrata, stop thinking about it and just book it! This was our first time trying a via ferrata, and my two sons (18 and 20) and I were honestly a little nervous about the heights. We are pretty avid hikers and had done a couple of indoor climbing walls before but no outdoor climbing experience. It ended up being the absolute highlight of our trip to Jackson Hole. A huge part of that was our incredible guide, Franz. From the moment we started, he made all three of us feel comfortable and confident. During the climbing he patiently helped us with our footing, explained the technical aspects clearly, and always knew exactly when to encourage us to push ourselves a little further. Thanks to him, we tackled some challenging routes that we never would have attempted on our own, and those ended up being some of our favorite moments. Franz also went above and beyond by taking photos and videos throughout the experience so we could simply enjoy the adventure without worrying about capturing it ourselves. His knowledge, professionalism, positive energy and just overall attitude made the entire experience unforgettable. If you’re debating whether this adventure is for you, trust me—it absolutely is. Whether you’re a first-timer or an experienced climber, you’ll have an incredible time. And ask for Franz. He was truly outstanding and made what was already an amazing adventure into one of the best experiences we’ve had. Highly, highly recommend. Do it!!

Phenomenal. I’m pretty nervous with heights and vulnerability. So I wasn’t terribly thrilled with the idea of climbing on the side of some steep mountains. 2 days later and I can’t imagine visiting the Jackson Hole/Teton area without doing it. If you’ve never done a VF and are on the fence about it, THIS is THE one to do. And Franz is as elite of a guide as it gets. He made me feel comfortable but also challenged me to overcome any doubts that I had. The “climb/hike” was a perfect balance as far as difficulty for pretty much any level climber. The views are great and the paths are well designed. Don’t visit the area and miss out on this activity. And if you can ask for Franz! You will love the person you will be at the end of this adventure.

My son and I went on the climb with Giles and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience! What a day! We will definitely do it again! Giles was knowledgeable, fun and encouraging. He taught us how to climb safely and took us to the perfect level of challenge! Amazing experience! I highly recommend it!!

Given that we had many via ferratas to our credit (30+ my wife, 140+ me), we were curious to see the interpretation of the via ferrata in this state of the USA. Fritz, our guide (you can NOT walk the via ferrata independently, a guide is required), had told us that on a full day you usually did 3/4 via ferrata, but we had no idea of the difficulty as they are divided into 3 categories - green, blue, black, as in skiing - not very indicative; it would be useful to classify the routes according to one of the conventions used in Europe, for better identification. We walked 7, 8 if we also consider the connecting via ferratas, including several blacks and the Crystal Cave, the most difficult according to the map. They are ferratas with very loose cable and almost never taut, little useful for traction if it were not for the numerous cambres, stairs and rungs that characterize all the routes, they are therefore very "ferrata", not particularly long, with some very short stretches in adherence and very climbable stretches. There is a long suspension bridge (Anguane type, but simpler) followed by 2 short Tibetan bridges, quite stable. Let's say that the most difficult can be classified as D (difficult) with a short TD stretch, but very equipped (cambre for both feet and hands). The physical commitment is there, but less than expected. The kit ("lineyard") provided has the "old-style" carabiners with swivel bezel, different from the one we use more evolved (they have it for children), a little uncomfortable in some steps, but nothing much if you have a minimum of experience. OK harnesses (harness) and helmets (helmet). The guide gave us a brief introduction to the via ferratas, but after the first he saw that we were going to be shipped and intervened only to illustrate the most difficult points, which however we walked without great difficulty. In conclusion recommended activity for both beginners and experts, the routes have a good variety of difficulties.

Great experience with Jake who showed tons of patience and challenged us throughout the day. Routes are for all skill levels and far exceeded all expectations for the day. Jake is a fantastic guide and super punctual helping us get the most out of our time. Don’t visit Jackson without hitting up Via Ferrata.

The Via Ferrata experience was like no other hiking & climbing adventure. The views above Teton Village and Jackson Hole are definitely worth the climb. Next time I’ll probably go for some of the harder routes, my guide Carol made it an easy experience all around.

Amazing experience! Jake was a fantastic guide. I was hesitant to do based on fear of heights. That was not an issue because of the focus required for the next move. Theis would also be a great team building event! Don’t hesitate…just do it!
