Our guide Allan was the absolute best. Very easy from start to finish and he went the extra mile to help with everything needed. It is certainly a strenuous hike, but he made it as easy as possible. He also helped with strategies for getting onto the famed rock itself which was huge for us getting over the initial fear. Frankly, I cannot thank Allan enough for this. He also took some great pictures for all of us. I strongly recommend Fjord Hikes to anyone looking for an exceptional experience going to to the Kjeragbolten.

This hike was a stretch for me- what felt like a lot of “straight up” granite, requiring some technical skill and endurance. The guide, Kenny, was extremely knowledgeable and helpful and rooted me on in the kindest way. Breathtaking views, some wild wind in places, and a beautiful long drive to the trailhead. This hike required a lot of effort - totally worth it

Our guide Stephan was an expert, he knew every detail of the hike. The tempo of trail was perfect. He anticipated the difficult part and gave plenty of warning, and lent you a hand just when you needed it.

We were guided on our tour to the "Bolten" by Sean and Erlend. The pickup from the hotel by Erlend was punctual to the minute. Later, Sean also joined us. From the very first moment, both conveyed friendliness, safety, and competence. The path is exactly as it was described. Due to Sean and Erlend's relaxed approach, we also did not lose our courage when we faced the true extent of the first ascent. Since we did not stand out due to strength and fitness, the two quickly adjusted the group pace to match ours. This allowed us to truly take in and enjoy the path. We found it great that Erlend himself demonstrated to us at the "rock" how to best climb it. Without this demonstration, we would never have voluntarily approached it. Additionally, Erlend provided countless great extra information about fauna, flora, and geology. Due to their immense experience, they also recognized that the seemingly impenetrable fog could clear up. They suggested that we wait another 45 minutes before descending. And indeed, the fog cleared, revealing the breathtaking view of the fjord and the mountains. Thus, this day, which seemed hopelessly foggy, turned out to be one of our best so far! We would 100% book with them again if circumstances allow.

I had an absolutely wonderful experience with Fjord Hikes. Even though I booked the tour just one day in advance and ended up being the only person signed up, Kenny still went ahead with the guided hike. I thought that was incredibly kind and really showed how much they care about giving their guests a great experience. Kenny was fantastic company throughout the hike. We had some really enjoyable conversations about the region, local life, and all sorts of other topics, which made the experience feel personal and memorable. As an added bonus, he brought along his lovely little dog, Nova, who was the perfect hiking companion and made the day even more special. The entire trip took around four hours, and every minute of it felt magical. The scenery was stunning, the pace was perfect, and the whole experience felt authentic and relaxed. I would highly recommend Fjord Hikes to anyone looking to explore the area with a knowledgeable, friendly guide. Thank you, Kenny and Nova, for such a memorable day 😊🗻🐕☀️

The hike to Kjeragbolten and the view of Lysefjord was spectacular! The hike was very challenging and I would NOT recommend doing this hike without a guide (unless you are a tough Norwegian). Kenny was an awesome guide and I definitely wouldn’t have made it without his help. We had blue skies, rain, sleet and there was snow on the ground at the top. I’m glad I dressed in layers and had a weatherproof jacket and pants. I wish I had better shoes.
