Host and entire experience was absolutely EXCEPTIONAL!! If you want a history tour of Salem beyond the witch trials, this tour is just the place. Such a bonus to learn how this seafaring city came to be over the centuries & what shaped it into what it is today. Bonus: it includes delicious treats [we had chocolate croissants from a local baker] and water at the start of our tour, and coupons to use at the different eateries that you get to learn about on the tour. I liked that they were places that had a soul, and history in the town. You get great insights into all the best places to eat, even small bites. We ended it by going to the water and learning about the spice trade, and having a spice tasting of a great variety of salts that used to be brought over to Salem on ships [it was SO fun!!]. And I LOVED that our tour guide explained the architecture/history of the buildings as we walked down the different streets. I did not realize there would be so much history that went along with the food tour; that was an absolute delight! We LOVED our tour guide, she was fun, kind, inviting, and passionate, and so knowledgeable about the city she has called home for many years. She really made the tour what it is and was exceptional in every way. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this tour if you want something different, love history, love food , and really want to get immersed in the city from a very kind local with a lot of passion for the place she calls home.

Super knowledgeable guide who shared the spice trade history of Salem, which is often overshadowed by the witch trials. It was cool to learn about another part of the city's history

This tour was such an amazing experience, I can't recommend it enough! Karen was so knowledgeable, had the best recommendations for where to stop later in our trip, and was just an absolute pleasure to spend time with. I truly appreciated the tone she brought to the information she shared, considering the history Salem is known for - she found a perfect balance of respectful and entertaining.

Karen was great! We enjoyed her enthusiasm and passion for the town of Salem as it went beyond the stereotypical witch tourism. We learned some interesting facts and the spice tasting was better than what we expected. This definitely a true local small business ran tour and I would highly reccomend it! The sweet treat is plus too!

Try to do it early in your stay to get some history and lay of the land. The morning walk was great as there weren’t many people about yet so we were able to get some nice pictures without the crowds. Take notes on the restaurant suggestions if you plan to go to any. We got so much great info we forgot some of it. The tour gives you some discounts at some of the local stores which was a nice bonus. The morning treat was so yummy we had to go to the bakery and bring some home!
