4.00Tour of the Rock Island lighthouse was excellent. The lighthouse is in great condition, with well-maintained grounds and the tower itself. The tour guide for the tower was knowledgeable, and the views from the top were outstanding. For the boat tour portion, Jeff was an excellent guide, providing great insights to the history of the 1000 Islands area. We took four different river cruises this week, and this was our favorite. The only negative was the limited views through the glass-bottom boat….i had expected more emphasis on this (perhaps a view of the shipwreck just off Rock Island?), but we were limited to a couple quick views of small underwater structures

5.00My husband and I have been coming to the thousand Islands for five years now and every year we do a different boat tour with Clayton Island tours we've done almost every one of them and everyone has been amazing and well worth the money we look forward to seeing you every year

5.00Excellent tour and narrative of the 1000 Islands. We had perfect weather which certainly helped, but it’s a great tour of Boldt Castle and the lighthouse.

5.00We had a great day on the river. Liam was an excellent tour guide. I would highly recommend this tour. The boat was timely leaving. The lunch was ready and fresh when we arrived. The tickets for the castle and lighthouse were included in the tour fee.

3.00If you do not take a boat tour there is not much to see or do in and around Clayton 1000 Islands. Panaramic views of the river and islands are pretty much non existent as homes and trees block the view all along the highways. The downtown area consists of very few blocks congested with traffic with very little parking availability. Restaurants and food fare is very limited, with hamburgers the main options. Most of the disterillies were closed while we were there. Highlight of the visit was to drive about 7 miles north to The Gals ice cream stand.
Very disappointed with the boat staff.

2.00The lighthouses and castles were great. The glass bottom boat was terrible you couldn't even see the water. The bottom of the boat was green like it hadn't been cleaned in years. I felt that I had been taken in from their advertising. (Other glass bottom boats are real, and you can see the water). The first mate on the boat was very rude. As we were heading back to the dock, he insinuated that we tip him. He was so demanding that I was irritated and will NEVER go with them again.

5.00It was a great trip and our narrator was awesome! He was very informative and pleasant. It was a little long but we had a good time. The boat was nice and clean comfortable. We were informed on both sides of the island.

5.00We have taken numerous tours in the last 45 years. This year we tried a new one. We had young children (7-11), and seniors as well. One of our seniors has difficulty with stairs, they have a ramp they put down for her. This made it so everyone could go! We had 10 us for a birthday. The kids hide mini cupcakes and got the boat captain and first mate (guide) to sing and the kids passed out cupcakes to everyone who wanted them. They had a great time seeing all the islands and getting fairly close to a ‘Salty’. We heard different things about the islands and surrounding area we didn’t know and some of us still live here! We also got to see different sides of islands as we were on a smaller boat. This tour did not stop at Bolt Castle, but we got to go all the way around it very close to see it all. The kindness and knowledge of all the staff and crew was amazing. We can’t wait to try another tour from them! So many choices so little time! Until next year! Thank you Clayton Island Tours!
