What To Expect
Wat Chaiwatthanaram
Wat Chaiwatthanaram is one of the most impressive temples in Ayutthaya, built in 1630 by King Prasat Thong. The temple features a beautiful Khmer-style design, highlighted by a tall central prang symbolizing Mount Meru, the center of the universe in Buddhist cosmology. Surrounding the main tower are smaller prangs and galleries once filled with Buddha images, creating a grand and symmetrical layout. The temple was used for royal ceremonies before being damaged during the fall of Ayutthaya in 1767. Today, its well-preserved ruins offer visitors a glimpse into the glory of the ancient kingdom, and it is especially popular for its breathtaking views at sunset.
Wat Mahathat
Wat Mahathat is one of the most important temples in the ancient city of Ayutthaya, believed to have been built in the 14th century during the early Ayutthaya Kingdom. The temple once served as a religious center and housed sacred relics of the Buddha. Today, it is best known for the famous Buddha head entwined in the roots of a banyan tree, a unique and iconic image of Thailand. Although much of the temple was destroyed during the fall of Ayutthaya in 1767, its atmospheric ruins and historical significance make it a must-visit site for travelers interested in Thai history and culture.

5.00Ayutthaya is breathtaking, especially the temples near the river. Henry really made the tour special for us though. Very attentive, polite, and just an awesome person to spend the day with. Everything was perfectly organized. The private boat ride was scenic and beautiful.

5.00Such an amazing day out. The historical park is huge and full of beautiful sights, especially the temple with the Buddha head in the tree roots. Kay was our guide and kept the entire day feeling relaxed and easy-going. Very polite and easy to talk to. We really appreciated how smoothly we moved between the different locations. 5.00We had an absolute blast exploring Ayutthaya. The scale of the ancient structures is mind-blowing. Annie was a fantastic guide, always smiling, polite, and kept the energy high. We never felt rushed at any of the temples and had plenty of time to take in the spiritual atmosphere. The tour ended with a lovely boat trip around the island, which was so peaceful and gave us a completely different perspective of the ruins from the water. Annie made the whole experience effortless and fun.

5.00Seeing the Buddha head in the tree roots was definitely one of the highlights of the trip. Angie was a fantastic guide, very organized, friendly, and always happy to answer all of our questions. She shared so many interesting stories and historical details that made each place feel more meaningful. The whole day was smooth, comfortable, and well-planned from start to finish. We never felt rushed and had plenty of time to enjoy the ancient temples and take photos. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Thailand for the first time.

5.00Our family vacation was made so much better because of this trip. The ancient temples are magnificent and look stunning in our family photos. Tina was incredibly sweet, welcoming, and attentive to all of our needs throughout the day. The tour layout was very well thought out, making it easy for us to navigate the historical park without feeling exhausted. The hotel pickup and drop-off were completely seamless. The van was spotless, very comfortable, and the driver operated the vehicle with great care and professionalism. The river boat ride at the end was a wonderful experience for the whole family. 5.00If you love history and culture, this tour is a must-do. Tina is incredibly knowledgeable and brought the history and stories of Thailand to life in a very clear, engaging way. Plus, Tina showed us the absolute best spots for photos, which made our group pictures turn out amazing. Truly a top-tier guide!
