We did the self guided tour. In hindsight a tour with a guide probably would have been a better choice. We spent 3 hours on the ship, read everything, saw the movies but somehow it felt lacking. The day we visited the shop was empty, so that was nice to have her almost to ourselves. There was a bit a parking/shuttle issue which washed time. I'm glad we visited as I have read si much about the Queen Mary.

The road to the ship was super heavy. 20 minutes to get out of cruise port terminal traffic When parked at Queen Mary lot, guest services are very friendly and knowledgeable. Love to see the original parts of the ship. The engine room area was fascinating.

Beautiful ship, but admission fee is expensive for what you get. And parking is very expensive unless you eat at one of the over-priced restaurants, and even then you only get a $10 discount from the $25 parking fee. Very very few staff members were evident on our visit, and they mostly seemed bored. The 30 minute introductory tour was very basic, and we felt the extra $20/person fee for a one-hour history tour was too steep. We visited on a week day, and not all the exhibits were open. Disappointing. This was just okay to visit once, but I won't be back.

The guide was great. Lots of interesting information. The ship itself was a little disappointing. I was expecting a fabulous, luxurious, Titanic-like ship. It wasn't. I advise taking the tour, but leave time afterwards for exploring on your own. The engine room was fascinating.

It was a self guided experience which is nice if you want to explore, but they cut off the engine room early I think due to a special event so I’d say plan ahead. As well as keep in mind you’ll be going up and down a lot of stairs which are steep. It is very pretty, but may be difficult to navigate for your first time. We had fun but would maybe do a guided tour next time.

It's a lot of history. Really neat tour. The staff is really friendly. You can take your time to explore the queen mary ship. I'm so glad my husband and I did this tour.

I came down here with my great grandmother all the way from sacramento. She is originally from west covina and brought me down here for the weekend. the queen mary had been on my bucket list for a few years so she took me. our tour guide was very nice and funny. we went on the paranormal tour that came with the general admission. overall, very nice place.

The historical Queen Mary is a sight to behold. She holds her own as she gloriously rests along the Long Beach shoreline. Breathtaking on approach, the wind was quickly deflated from our hopeful sails when the person working the front podium exuded such negative and unfriendly vibes, we nearly turned around and left. Once aboard, though, we were happy to have persisted as EVERYONE else was extremely welcoming and gracious, particularly Marvin in the gift shop and Leo, our waiter, as well as the female bartender in the Promenade Cafe. We didn’t have a great deal of time to explore, but we left at sunset for a pleasant and relaxing stroll back to our hotel, which was less than a mile down the walking path by the water. After hearing about the possibly haunted areas of the ship, we probably wouldn’t stay overnight, but for the paranormal enthusiasts, it’s a must do!
