In 1513, 40,000 Swiss soldiers surrounded Dijon. The citizens carried a mysterious wooden statue through the streets, and two days later the army vanished. Centuries later, the Germans did the same. This self-guided audio tour walks you through the streets where these stories unfolded.
From the original Maille mustard boutique to a gingerbread factory dating back to 1796, this is Dijon told through its flavours, scandals, and secrets. You'll learn why 80% of the world's "Dijon" mustard is actually made from Canadian seeds, touch the legendary Owl and hear the ghost story behind the tradition, and step inside the Ducal Palace museum for a narrated walkthrough most visitors miss entirely.
No fixed start time, start when you want and pause for a wine tasting in Eiffel-inspired market hall.
If you'd rather explore Dijon at your own pace with real stories, this walking tour fits. Over 20,000 travellers have used our self-guided tours, and every booking comes with a full refund guarantee.

Outstanding and Informative Tour of Dijon! This was the first time we had visited this city. It is also the first time we have tried a self-guided tour. We really loved both the tour and the city! There were four of us, all of us older folk in our 60s and 70s, yet we had little to no trouble figuring out how to make the tour work, The guide utilizes the Tourific Ap which took a couple of minutes to download and set up, but after that it was easy. We drove our rental car to a parking lot on the edge of the city and then took an Uber to the first stop on the tour. From there we walked to all 24 locations. I enjoyed being able to stop and get a snack or something whenever we wanted to, it was great! The guide gave great detail about each of the sites. I highly recommend!

The narration and tour stops are very good. It would. Be improved if the gps triggered the narration as you came upon the particular stop. Instead we frequently had to double back as we had passed the building that should have been tagged to the stop. We have done other self guided tours that worked more seamlessly.

The tour was guided by an app on my phone, each location was shown on an interactive map and me round the city’s streets and attractions, due to the tall buildings in the center location was lost for a period but helped by the pictures given of the location. With stops for food and drink along the way we had a pleasurable experience. There was no pressure to rush the tour we took our time and feasted along the way.

Very informative tour that is well-structured but does not contain too many details. The app works flawlessly.

Easy to use app with excellent information and well presented. The addition of map and pictures greatly enhance this self guided tour. I wasn't quite sure what to expect but it turned out to be our perfect tour 'companion'. And you can do it in your own time.

Brilliant concept and a great experience. No being rushed or held up by others and able to dip in and out at your own pace. Loved it.

Very nice to take a tour with an audio tour in your own timeframe. The ai voice with a slightly too English accent is nice if it can pronounce the French words just a little better. By using text to speech, they do promise that they can easily make adjustments to texts if necessary. Well, that's handy. In terms of content, fun facts are highlighted, but I missed some historical context; when did Dijon come into being. Maybe good to make about 3 types of tours per city; highlights, historical and for children oid. I have already told the creators that it is useful to adjust the app at certain points. The biggest advantage of this audio tour is that it is many times cheaper than doing a tour with a guide (in a group for 280 with 2 people).
