Join us for an evening safari into the Northern Norwegian landscape with a local guide who knows the habits and life of the moose and where we have the best chance of seeing them.
The Moose – elg in Norwegian – is Europe’s largest land animal. Despite its size, it is shy and cautious, but often allow us to get quite near. We observe from a respectful distance and never disturb the animals. Our aim is to experience them as they are – calm, natural, and undisturbed in their own environment.
On the way, we pass Saltstraumen, home to the world’s strongest tidal current – an impressive natural phenomenon that adds another highlight to the tour. Along the route, there are also chances to see other wildlife, such as reindeer and white-tailed eagle.
We take time to enjoy the surroundings, with good opportunity for photography throughout the tour. Snacks, warm drinks, and photos from the experience are included – so you can stay present while we help capture the moments.

Joined the moose safari on the summer solstice, with Ivar as our guide. Despite the lack of sun (and frequent rain) Ivar really went to great lengths to ensure we saw as many moose as possible. As a result, the sightings got better as the evening progressed, ending with the best sighting of all. Very much enjoyed the experience. Would recommend also as a solo traveller. Easy to get chatting to others as you wonder round on the lookout for moose.

Ivor was a phenomenal tour guide for the moose safari. Borland Adventures is his gig and he offers sight seeing in nature as well as hiking, kayaking and other activities. Dress for various weather since it can get chilly when outside. The excursions are several hours so eat beforehand and bring snacks if needed. The safari allowed me to see parts of the countryside I would otherwise never have seen. For me, this was immensely valuable.

This is a must-do tour in Bodo. Well-organized, flexible, no rush, just enjoying nature. We started with several stops at beaches, fjords and Saltstraumen before searching for elks. The tour guide was professional, knowing exactly where to go to encounter as much elks as possible. The first one appeared just 5 min. after we started searching for them, and we saw nearly 20 different for about 1.5-2 hours. In mid-June when we were, the male already has growing antlers, but not fully developed. The midnight sun, however, offers a perfect opportunity to observe them in full light. There is a big chance to see also foxes, roe deers and a variety of birds. The tour is suitable for all ages.

We had an absolutely fantastic time on both the moose expedition and the canoeing trip. From start to finish, everything was perfectly organised, relaxed, and enjoyable. What made the experience truly special was your enthusiasm, knowledge, and genuine love for the outdoors. Seeing moose in their natural environment was unforgettable, and your ability to share interesting facts while making the experience fun and engaging made it even better. The canoe trip was equally wonderful—peaceful, scenic, and the perfect way to immerse ourselves in nature. Thank you for your kindness, patience, and for creating memories that we’ll treasure for a long time. Your passion for what you do shines through in every detail, and we couldn’t have asked for a better guide. We wholeheartedly recommend these experiences to anyone looking for an authentic, memorable, and beautifully guided adventure. John &Mandy
