Pile Gate
Pile Gate is the main entrance to Dubrovnik’s Old Town, built in the 15th century as part of the city's medieval fortifications. It features a stone bridge, a drawbridge, and a statue of St. Blaise, the city’s patron saint, welcoming visitors through its historic archway.
The Large Onofrio Fountain in Dubrovnik, built in 1438 by Italian architect Onofrio della Cava, was part of a water supply system that brought fresh water from a spring 12 kilometers away. Its circular structure is adorned with 16 carved stone masks, each with a spout that once provided drinking water to the city. 5.00A very pleasant meeting Antje adapts to your wishes and therefore appears very accessible She knows a lot and tries to answer every question for you as best she can We made a nice pleasant walk through Dubrovnik followed by a delicious lunch Again, Antje knows how to tell nicely about the dishes

5.00How much we enjoyed the three of us of the tour of Antje through the old city Dubrovnik. It starts outside the Pile gate with the rich history of the past centuries, including the golden age, the great fire of 1667, the economic, political and religious background, the war of 1991-95 and the reconstruction after the 80% destruction of the old city. The explanation of the patron saint HH Blasius and the annual procession of February 3rd that both her sons leave with. The explanation of the architecture over the centuries, the ramparts and entrance gates, the Onofrio fountain with spring water from near the Ombla, the reconstruction along the Stradun, the 4 remaining old original buildings, including the Sponza Palace. The discovery of all kinds of buildings and alleys (e.g. the Jewish street), the town hall, Franciscan monastery, Dominican site, cathedral,... always with accompanying expert explanations. The harbor with recommendations taxi boat, the Mediterranean market on Gundulić Square and closing clock stroke 12 the pigeon lining. What a fantastic tour of this warm and sympathetic lady who is Antje. 10 out of 10 for atmosphere, conviviality, expertise, empathy and interactivity!

5.00The best choice we made during our trip. The tour with Antje is a lot of fun! We get all the freedom to fill in how we fill out the tour, can rest without pressure and learned everything about the city. The many tips make our weekend a lot of fun! Absolutely recommended to start your holiday with. The knowledge and kindness of Antje are very beyond expectations.

5.00Guide Antje was already waiting for us when we arrived. Full of enthusiasm, she talked about the history of the city, facts from the past and the current architecture. She could really give a well-founded answer to every question and kept telling with dedication. It was also very nice that she took our group into account. Both waiting patiently when our toddler needed care and connecting with our teenage son...She had it all! Very nice experience that I would definitely recommend to anyone!!

5.00During our family cruise (8 people) we visited Dubrovnik. Guide Antje has shown us around for 3 hours very interesting and extensive. We started with 4 people at the city walls. Which was great to do, especially because of the stories Antje told. After 1.5 hours the rest of the group joined and we visited the old town. Antje told a lot about the history of the city and how Dubrovnik has developed over the years. We also got good tips for the rest of the day. Overall a very successful excursion that I would definitely recommend. Thank you Antje!

5.00What a great experience in Dubrovnik! 🇭🇷 Together with Antje we did a private tour of the old town for 2 hours, and that is absolutely recommended. It was very nice to be able to follow everything in Dutch so that the rich history of Dubrovnik really comes to life. Antje is extremely enthusiastic, positive and knows how to tell in a fun and accessible way. She takes you through the atmospheric, narrow streets and shares interesting stories and facts that you would never discover yourself. An educational and fun tour that really made our trip complete. 5.00Antje has been absolutely fantastic! We’re a family of 3 who speaks 3 languages (French, English and Dutch). She could speak all 3 fluently. The almost 3 hours we spent with her ( Dubrovnik old city tour + tasting of local food and wine), not only she showed the best spots of the city but she added historical events and others special events. We had a wonderful time. Thanks Antje!!!
