What To Expect
We begin each lesson with water safety, surfing etiquette, and a stretch to guarantee a fun and safe lesson. After warming up, we demonstrate the proper way to paddle and stand up on the surfboard, allowing the student(s) to practice on the beach before moving to the ocean. We then take the lesson to the water where our surf instructor works closely with the student giving a helping hand and step-by-step directions. Guarantee that the student is riding waves during their first lesson! Teaching until we have accomplished our common goal, we leave you with a smile and the new ability to surf!

5.00My daughter had sooo much fun at surf camp this week and grew in her technique and love for the sport. The instructors are all so knowledgable yet chill and help meet you where you’re at without adding too much pressure. They could probably teach anyone to surf! It’s just a lot of fun (I’ve done lessons too). Love the Kokopelli crew!! 10/10

5.00Olive absolutely loved her 3-day surf camp with Kokopelli! She came home all smiles every day and couldn’t wait to tell me all about her adventures when camp was over. The staff were fantastic with the kids, and she especially enjoyed learning about different wave types and how to read the ocean. One of her favorite moments was watching Mr. Brandon cut a watermelon using a surfboard fin—she thought that was the coolest thing ever! The camp sparked such a love for surfing that as soon as her lessons were finished, she had her dad take her to buy her very own surfboard so she could keep practicing. She’s already begging me to sign her up again for the July camp! Thank you to the entire Kokopelli team for such an amazing experience. We highly recommend it!

5.00This is our 7th year surfing with Brandon and team at Kokopelli. Two kids and a various cast of friends join each year and it continues to be the BEST surf experience. Brandon and Josh were amazing coaching the kids according to different skill levels and always up for fun. This year we had one complete newbie who was up on the board within first 15minutes. The organization and management is super professional, sessions start on time and communication is great. We will be back next season!
Best experience for teens and young kids! We had 4 girls between 8-13 with varying experience swimming and surfing .

5.00Brandon was amazing! He assessed each kids capabilities and worked with them at their level. Balancing 4 girls between 8-13 on land is tough, having them surfing and up catching wave and having a blast was the best. Private lessons were worth every penny! The girls wanted a second day and we were happy to do it. They also had great rates on gear and board rentals since we were in North Myrtle on Vacation. 100% will do again and highly recommend KOKOPELLI while in Myrtle or North Myrtle Beach!

5.00My kids absolutely loved their experience, first time surfing with John. He engaged in conversation with them, talking about their favorite place, Hawaii. My daughter and son were both able to ride the waves! It was a perfect day!! John was the best. They are ready to do it again!

5.00My daughter(12yo) and I(48yo) got private surf lessons on the 28th and 29th. John was our instructor and we had the absolute best time!! My daughter and I both just absolutely enjoyed ourselves. John gave super helpful tips and tricks in real time to help us catch some waves. I can’t recommend this service enough. Twenty minutes into the first day my daughter asked if we could sign up for another day!!
