The best food tour we've been on, we've been on a lot! The food selection was excellent and the pacing was on point. The experience was more than a presentation of food, culture, and history. Karitas is a pro! She made sure to include and connect every one in the eclectic group. Her high social and emotional IQ enriched the experience giving rise to shared joy not simply a shared meal. If you're booking ask for her by name.

Our guide Karitas was awesome. She was very knowledgable and so much fun. She also recommended other places for us to visit. All the food on the tour was excellent. We had a group of all ages. The walk is very easy.

The best food tour with Bonnie. So fun. And she was super knowledgeable about the town and the food. Food was excellent - a great sampling of iceland favorites... even the fermented shark, if you have the courage to try it.

Hafsteinn Nielsson was an incredible part-time guide if you are fortunate enough to tour with him. His full-time vocation is an actor and creative musical producer/writer. We sampled a variety of Icelandic treats at four unique restaurants along with a variety of popular beverages. The time passed quickly and at its conclusion we did some shopping.

One of the best ways to learn about a place you never been before is definitely walking around and exploring. Combine it with food and a knowledgeable guide and you will have the best introduction possible to that place. This is how my wife and I felt after going on the Wake Up Reykjavik’s Food Tour with our tour guide, Karítas. Without giving any spoilers about the foods we tried, I have to say that they highlight Icelandic cuisine from different perspectives: from dishes representing the foundation of the country to pieces of culinary art displaying what is contemporary. Karítas was the perfect host to our first full day in Reykjavik, showing us the city as we walked from one restaurant to the other and telling us stories of the establishments and the dishes. Beyond that, afterwards she sent us an email with very useful inside information to help us navigate the city. I recommend this tour for everyone visiting Iceland for the first time. And if you have Karítas as your guide, you will be in fantastic hands!

Lots of Icelandic "greatest hits" and a charming and delightful guide, Alfie. Definitely worth it. Come with a big appetite!

We enjoyed our introduction to Reykjavik by taking the Wake Up food tour the evening we arrived from the USA. It's the perfect way to stretch our legs, see the sights and sample authentic Icelantic dishesl. The five restaurants were well chosen for their authenticity and local color. Fjallkonan, on Hafnarstoeti Street, was a standout, serving cured Arctic char with salmon roe and horseradish sauce on a chickpea blini, as well as slow-cooked lamb in a pepper cream sauce on Icelandic flatbread. Our affable guide, Ben FrankPalmason, was knowledgeable and charming with a great sense of humor. Five stars!

Such a fun experience to do at the beginning of our trip to Iceland. Bonnie introduced us to the food scene in Reykjavik, and also extended a warm welcome and entertained us between stops with her bright and cheery disposition on a rather wet afternoon. We found the eateries to be interesting and quite good. Maybe the fermented shark wasn't 'good' lol, but really this is an excellent experience.
