Kevin met us at the ferry and spent the entire afternoon on a custom tour for the 4 of us of the wine culture of Pico, including stops at multiple sites and 2 wineries where he had arranged tastings. He is thoughtful and well informed, and went out of his way to answer our questions both during and after the tour. We learned a lot about the history of winemaking on Pico, as well as the current situation. At the end he dropped us at our hotel, and followed up later to provide suggestions for things to do on our second day on our own.

I highly recommend the excursion "wine culture of the island of Pico" with Kevin. We wanted to learn more about wine production and how to make wine in the Azores. We took the tasting extra, without any regrets. Kévin knows very well the history of Pico, the fauna and flora that characterizes it. We learned a lot about the island and the lives of the Azores. The place of tasting is just splendid. In addition, during this tasting, Kévin is careful to explain everything if you do not understand because the explanations are in English. A little attention that pleases. Many thanks for this wonderful experience, we do not regret at all to have called on Kevin.

Kevin, such an amazing time. Lauren and I just got back to our airbnb and talked the whole car ride back about how incredible this experience. The stories we shared and the knowledge you have about pico and the local pico wines were exactly what we had hoped for. All the places you took us and the time you spent telling us about it all, will truly stay with us for the rest of our lives. The wine tasting was especially peaceful. You helped us make an unforgettable trip, and really made our honeymoon that much better. We hope to come back soon, and when we do … hope to climb mount pico! We may be giving you a call ahead of time! Thank you so much! Cheers!

Highly recommend the Basalt Wine Excursion with Kevin. My friends and I wanted to learn about the viniculture of Pico and Basalt's tour was recommended by our host. So glad we did it! Kevin is super knowledgeable about the history of Pico and it's winemaking as well as the volcanic environment that makes it so special. We walked along lava fields, visited the currais of criaçao velha, and topped it off with a great wine-tasting. Kevin's knowledge and sense of humor really made it a special afternoon and it's definitely one of the best thing I did on my trip to the Azores.
