Prosecco Origins will take you back in time to the XIV century to discover the history of world’s favourite sparkling wine, exploring the pieces of land where it all began.
Hidden in a little corner of north-eastern Italy and beautifully located in a unique setting overlooking the gulf of Trieste you’ll find the old villages of Contovello and Prosecco (of course), where you’ll get the chance to learn about the very first steps of Prosecco wine walking through the narrow streets of the ancient village and up and down the green terraced vineyards enjoying unbeatable views of the Adriatic Sea while tasting traditionally produced sparkling wines and regional delicacies from the nearby farmhouses.

5.00Katrin was an excellent host & owner of the Boutique Organic Winery. She does all of the work in the winery & loves the local wine making business. She told us about of the local history as she walked us through the small neighborhood of Contovello where the winery is located. We then entered her winery where she had set up a lovely table in her vineyard for appetizers & wine tasting. A great experience!

5.00The tour was a wonderful walk through the region’s history. You can tell she really cares about her vineyard and community. Highly recommended for everyone. One thing of note. Yes the start point for the tour is a picnic table in a park. It is easy to locate.

5.00So much fun. Katrin could not have been more warm and welcoming. Her love of wine and food was evident. And we learned so much about the history of region and makes its wines so special. The location for the wine tasting was heavenly and the food was paired to perfection. 100/10 do not miss this experience.

5.00Wonderful host (Katrin) led us on a walking tour through the village, giving knowledge about the region and wine making. She allowed for plenty of photos opportunities. Then a fabulous feast on fresh baked bread, meat and cheese which were delicious. A sample of wines with explanation before viewing the wine making facilities. Well worth the money, fabulous experience.
