On any trip, the quality of your journey is greatly impacted by your tour guide. Here at Habari Adventure, we have top notch tour guides who consistently go above and beyond expectations to provide you with an outstanding experience. All of our tour guides are locals, from Kilimanjaro and other parts of Tanzania. Their expertise includes local flora and fauna, geography, history, archaeology, anthropology, astronomy and every one of them is trained in safety and first aid. Trekking and Going on Safaris through Tanzania with one of our tour guides will be an incredible learning experience.
All of our tour guides speak English and most of them learned some foreign languages at one of the most established schools in Tanzania. They specialized in tour guiding and Wildlife Management in all tourism activities.

After breakfast you will be picked up at the hotel around 8:00 am and transferred to Machame gate. On the way you will see coffee and banana plantations grown by Chagga people. After arriving at Machame gate you will go through some park formalities such as registration then you will start your mount Kilimanjaro climbing at the Machame gate. Your first day hike is through a tropical rain forest up to Machame camp (2835 m). On the route you will have a picnic lunch. Overnight at Machame camp.

You start to hike around 8:00 am. You will climb an hour to the top of the forest and then 1 hour at a gentler gradient through the moorland zone. After a short lunch (snacks) and break, you continue up a rocky ridge, the Shira plateau. At this point you will be able to see an eastern direction, the western breach with its stunning glacier. Overnight at Shira Campsite (3750 m).

To take advantage of acclimatization, we will hike to high altitude and then descend to a lower altitude. The trek will take us into alpine desert up to lava tower (4600 m) before descending to Baranco Camp (3900 m). This descent to Barranco Camp takes about 3 hours and offers great opportunities to take some beautiful pictures of the Western Breach and Barranco wall. The campsite is situated in a valley below the Barranco wall which should provide you a memorable sunset while waiting for dinner. Overnight at Barranco Camp (3900 m).

After breakfast we continue up a steep ridge to the great Barranco wall, then you climb this imposing obstacle which turn to be easier than it looks. Topping out just below the item 6 lacer you can now appreciate just how beautiful Kilimanjaro really is. With Kibo glaciers soaring overhead, you descend into the lush Karanga Valley camp site. From the camp you can look east and see the jugged peaks of Mawenzi. After a hot lunch in camp, your afternoon is at leisure for resting. This short day is very important for you acclimatization since your summit push is about to start.

After breakfast you will start hiking to Barafu Camp (4640 m). On the way you will have a good view of the Kibo and Mawenzi peaks. After arriving at the campsite we have lunch and a long rest waiting for long-night and a day ahead. Dinner will be early and then try to get some sleep as we will be getting up around midnight to start climb to the summit
Barafu Camp (4637 m) to UHURU PEAK (5895 m) then down to Millennium Camp (3950 m)

We will wake up very early, at around 00:00, some light tea with cookies will be ready for you. We will climb scree for 4 to 5 hours but gain incredible height over a short distance. The view is spectacular. We should be on the crater rim at Stella point (5756 m) as the first rays of the sun hit us. Then it will take us 1 hour form Stella point to Uhuru peak (5895 m) were you take some photos for a few minutes before we start descending to Barafu Camp for lunch and some rest, and then walk down to Millennium Camp (3950 m) for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast you continue the final descend, it’s a couple of hours further now from Millennium Campsite to Mweka Gate, where you will collect your certificates. After complete park formalities and receiving the certificates, a private car will take you back to your hotel where you can have a warm shower. It’s definitely time to celebrate!

5.00Well I'm not quite sure where to start....... The previous reviews gave me a lot of confidence in this company already, but the experience was so much more. As a solo female traveller having confidence in your safety and who you are with is the most important, and straight from meeting Evance & Jackson, I felt at ease, confident in them and safe. The trip itself was one of my most challenging, and I felt supported and cared for the whole way, even when I was suffering and ill with altitude sickness, the whole team took care of me, even tying my shoelaces when I was exhausted. The most amazing smile every morning and meal time from Thomas, excellent meals cooked by Eugene ( too much food for us all to finish 😍) every porter that worked so hard to carry all our provisions deserve so much recognition for the amazing job they do with a smile on their faces. When we were too weak to carry our bags, they took them off us, or the porters came and supported us on the final stretch each day. Stan should be amazingly proud of the company he has built and the people he has hired, I couldn't recommend them enough 🙌🏻🙏🏻 I don't think I would have reached the top had t not been for every single one of them. I booked my safari tour after which I will write a separate review for as it deserves.... But hands down BEST company! So much love to you all!

5.00I would absolutely recommend going with Habari Adventures. I travelled solo, yet never felt alone — I was incredibly well looked after, truly princess treatment if I can call it that. Every member of the team was helpful, kind, and endlessly supportive. I genuinely would not have made it to the summit without them. The whole experience was professional, seamless, and exceptionally well organised. A huge shout-out to my amazing team — Evance, Amani, Peter, Joseph, Daudi, Kisanga, and Stan. I’ve sadly forgotten the name of one last legend, but I could never forget his face or his kind heart.

5.00On 19th November 2025 7-day Machame Route Habari Adventures handled our honeymoon with exceptional care, arranging romantic dinner, private excursions and smooth 4×4 ride to Zanzibar that made the whole trip more special. Our honeymoon on Machame Route was unforgettable every step felt like an adventure we were sharing for the first time.we enjoyed the quite morning above the clouds, holding hands as we walk through the rainforests and laughing together during the climb. We loved the team work Habari Adventure offered and gentle moments in the tent. As a newly married couple we couldn't chose a better than Habari Adventures for our honeymoon.
