⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A brilliant way to discover Birmingham. Yesterday I joined the 'A Taste of Birmingham' food tour and had a fantastic afternoon eating my way around the city while learning more about Birmingham's food history and culture. Over four hours, our guide took us to a variety of venues across the city, from a legendary Desi pub to one of Birmingham's oldest wine merchants. Along the way we enjoyed a great mix of food and drink, including mixed grill, Cadbury chocolate, Balti-inspired treats, Brummie favourites and a surprise local snack. What I loved most was that it wasn't just about the food. As someone who talks about Birmingham and the West Midlands regularly, I was surprised by how much I learned about the city's history, communities and culinary heritage. The guide was knowledgeable, friendly and kept the tour engaging throughout. The pace was relaxed, the portions were generous and it felt like a great way to spend an afternoon whether you're visiting Birmingham for the first time or you've lived here for years. A special mention to our guide, Han, who was excellent, and to my fellow tour guests for making it such an enjoyable experience. I'd highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for a different way to explore Birmingham. Go along hungry! There's lots to eat.
