Ancon Hill is the most popular viewpoint in Panama City, with views of the Panama Canal, downtown and the old town of Casco Viejo. Ancon Hill is an area that was used for the administration of the Panama Canal. He was under American jurisdiction in the Panama Canal area until his return to Panama in 1977.
It will take us about 45 minutes to walk on a single paved path to get to the top.

5.00Mí Puebllito is a great starting spot for a walk up Ancon Hill. There is a parking lot and clean public restrooms located here. The walk up the hill includes some steps, but is primarily a paved service road. We saw lots of birds, frogs, and an agouti; there were also stunning views of Panama City. It is about a 35 minute walk, though we stopped a lot to enjoy the views. The Mí Pueblito site is a re-creation of several villages including indigenous, early settlers, and Carribean influence. Definitely worth the small admission fee.
