The tour was just an overpaid driver and not much of a tour guide. We saw two temples in walking distance from our hotel. And then the waterfall which was ok but not worth a whole day’s trip. Lunch was mediocre. The van was very old and hot.

This was more of an overpriced driver than a tour. Saw 2 temples very close to our hotel and sticky waterfalls. Lunch was mediocre at best. The van was a bit beat up as well. I do not recommend this tour.

Joe from GoWithJoe was a fantastic host and guide. We booked quickly when arriving in Chiang Mai and realized that a couple temples listed were quite close to our hotel so we messaged Joe and asked if possible to switch up the temple tour and he was so accommodating. He even asked to adjust the times to avoid the large crowds, which we appreciated! He was very knowledgeable of the temple and, being a native of Chiang Mai, taught us much about the culture. He also introduced us to some Northern Thai cuisine we never heard of at a local spot and it was delicious and included in the tickets. If back, would love to join on one of his sunrise tours in the national park.

This was a great tour. We started the day by visiting 2 temples new the city center. Joe walked through the temples with us and gave some insight into their age and what is on the temple grounds. Very interesting. We then went to Namtok Bua Tong-Nam Phu Chet Si National Park. This is where the sticky waterfalls are. It’s about 45 minute drive from the last temple. They are so cool. They look like something you would find in a water park. With the tour all we needed was a towel, camera/phone and swimming suit (and a coverup for my wife when she wasn’t in the water- and you will need it to enter the temples). After the waterfalls we stopped for boat noodles at Joe’s favorite spot. The boat noodles were amazing, He was also nice enough to let me get seconds. We got done eating around 2 pm. After that he took us to where they do handmade Thai silk. You first see a demonstration of how they do it and then they take you into a show room where you can buy materials. It was neat. We didn’t feel pressured at all by Joe to buy anything (even though we did by a few things). Once everyone in the group was ready we went to a place that does silver goods. Again you could see a short demonstration of what they do and then you go into the showroom. Again no pressure from Joe to buy anything. Although the sales people at the showroom aren’t shy about trying to get you to buy something. After that is was back to the hotel. It was a lovely day. I am excited to come and do it again and bring our children.
