Mount Bromo is very special with the spectacular sunrise panorama. Landscape of Mount Bromo, Mount Batok, and Mount Semeru that stand side by side at Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park. Mount Ijen is about 200km further east and involves a night hike up. Once you make it into the volcano, you will see the blue flames (only visible before sunrise) and see the most acidic lake in the world. You will meet the miners, they are the strong local villagers who work at night to collect sulfur using very low safety gear standard. They risk themselves carrying 60-80 kilograms of sulfur down the mountain twice a day and the income they get depends on how many kilograms of sulfur they can bring down. After the sunrise, Ijen Crater turns into a fantastic volcano that you will always remember. The acidic turquoise lake, the truly exotic volcanic rugged cliffs, the smoke of sulfur and the ambitious miners, all these combinations may make you more grateful for your life.

Mount Bromo and Cemoro Lawang can be pretty chilly before sunrise since they’re 2,329 meters (7,641 ft) above sea level,the elevation at the viewpoint is a whopping 2,770 meters (9,088 ft). Temperatures can drop below 7 Celsius (45 F), and that doesn’t even factor in wind chill. It can get incredibly windy on the mountain peaks, and dry season is cooler than rainy season. However, you’ll only be chilly before sunrise. After that it warms up pretty quick, and the sun at this elevation is plenty strong.

Wulan Kapitu (January 17th-18th, 2026), The Silence day (March 19th-20th, 2026), Ecosystem restoration (April 6th -12th) and Kasada (May 31st - June 2nd at 10:00am, 2026). At that time Mount Bromo closed for religious purposes.
Your guide at Bromo and Ijen is a different person
When you decide to see the blue fire, descend 800 meters with steep conditions up to a 45 degree incline, the path to the bottom of the crater will be rocky and narrow.
Mount Ijen usually during the wet season, the volcanic activity near the crack of volcano is rising. If this activity occurs then authorities will close the trail going to the Blue Flame but travellers still have opportunity to enjoy the landscape from Ijen's rim of crater, or if the volcanic activities turn the toxicity of gas into a level of danger, then the authorities will close the entire site for safety reasons. Visiting Mount Ijen/Blue flame means you need to be ready for nature’s unpredictability. There is no guarantee that you will go down the crater/blue fire on the day of your trip, nature is unpredictable and if due to massive sulphur clouds it is too dangerous on that day to go down, you have to respect it for your own safety.
Ijen crater: Distance: 6 kilometers (3.7 mi) return, tour duration 7 hours return, The first 2km is the most challenging, as the road climbs steadily at a 25-35° incline. The next 1 km is flat.

Bromo tour depart from hotel at 02:30am, the Jeep is waiting in front of your hotel, meet our driver and guide, by Jeep drive to view point. Usually the sunrise around 05:00am, the sunrises can be spectacular depending on weather conditions.

After sunrise around 06:00am, back to jeep parking area and you will be heading to mount Bromo around 30 min,The Jeep will park near luhur poten temple. Walk 30 minutes one way to the top of mount bromo, the last part is a stairs, climb up 245 stair to reach the top of mount bromo, stay careful with your steps. from the crater rim, Hear the roar of the earth while balancing on the edge of an active volcano crater. Approximately 07.00am the 4WD will bring you back to the hotel for have breakfast and shower.

Depart at 12:00am, our driver and guide will pick you up then 1 hour drive to paltuding, the entrance of Mount Ijen. In total, the hike to the Ijen peak takes about 1.5 hours depending on your pace, if you walk quickly you could do it in 1 hour, and even slow hikers won’t take more than 2 hours to reach Ijen peak. If you decide to go down the path is crowded, it’s steep and rocky, this part of the hike takes about 30 minutes in each direction. When you arrived at the bottom of ijen crater, you will see amazing blue flames. At 05:00am you will climb back to the top of mount ijen, enjoy scenery. At 06:00am back to Paltuding around 1 hour walking then meet our driver, you'll be taken back to the hotel for have a breakfast and shower

At 10:00am checking out, drive to ketapang ferry port, where you'll catch a ferry over to Gilimanuk ferry port, by private car transfer out to your hotel in Bali or return to Surabaya (optional). Here, your three-day tour of the Indonesian volcanoes will come to an end.

5.00I had an amazing experience with BROMOIJEN tour transport. The Office / Contact: Ary was extremely responsive! Everything was booked and finalized in less than a day. They were incredibly accommodating with my activities and custom itinerary, ensuring that every detail was perfectly handled. The Driver: A huge thanks to Itong! He was much more than a driver; he was a true road companion. He guided me to the best spots and perfectly optimized the organization. As a solo traveler, I deeply appreciated his professionalism, kindness, and care. The Ijen Guide: Suci was absolutely incredible during the Mount Ijen hike. Despite the heavy crowds where we temporarily lost each other, we managed to reunite perfectly. I can’t thank her enough for her bubbly energy. 5.00We did the 4D/3N (this includes Sukamade turtle conservation between Ijen and Bali) and also includes the Madakaripura waterfalls on day 1. The quotation/booking process was very easy via email with Ary. Everything was explained (included or not included, what to prepare before the trip, etc) and we had a choice of accommodation type as well. Once the trip started we've been incredibly well looked after right until the end. We were met by our awesome driver Bagus and a representative (Nico) who organised the final payment and gave us a bag with snacks, drinks and other lively things. He also did a recap of what was going to happen in the next 4 days for us. We then went on with Bagus on a very comfortable car with water bottles always available and great conversations! All the activities were well worth the trip, from the impressive waterfalls of Madakaripura, the unbelievable views of Bromo park, the unique Ijen, and the emotional turtle experience. Both guides (Hari for Bromo, making sure we got at the viewpoint and to the crater at the perfect moments for best views and avoiding queues, and Suci for both Ijen and Sukamade, providing unlimited knowledge about the areas, culture, etc) were super friendly and took amazing pictures for us, and Ary also checked on us via WhatsApp during the trip. Unfortunately we couldn't see the famous blue fire on Ijen but the trip up, the views of the lake and the sunrise were still amazing! My favourite part was how incredible Bromo was and my husband's favourite was to witness a turtle laying eggs/releasing baby turtles to the sea in Sukamade. Once at the ferry port, we said goodbye to Bagus who left us with a porter for the ferry trip to Bali, and we then met our new driver on the Bali side for our final destination there. We want to thank Bagus, Suci and Hari especially but everyone involved with our trip as we will never forget it!

5.00The best thing I have ever experienced in Indonesia! Every little detail was picked up on and sorted by the company. Everything was seamless and comfortable. Other than the breathtaking views and spots we saw, the team was the reason for the magical experience. All the tour guides were extremely helpful and supportive. All very knowledgable sharing facts and experiences at the locations. Mr Sigit, our driver, was incredible! He was there during every transition and long drive taking us through the whole journey. The most amazing guy! I will miss everything about this experience. It is honestly one of a kind! I would 10000% always chose to so it with this company! Worth every penny!

5.00Perfect organization, guide in Spanish as we requested, very friendly and attentive at all times, he explained a lot of things and was very funny; we laughed a lot with him. The driver also deserves a perfect score, punctual, the car was very clean and spacious. I recommend this tour to everyone who wants to spend 3 wonderful days among volcanoes and waterfalls.

5.00Ary was very prompt in responding to all our queries before we finalised the trip. We were picked up early morning from Malang in a very clean and comfortable car by Alif. Traveling with him for three days was a very comfortable experience. He accommodated all our requests for stops and breaks. The guides in Tumpak Sewu, Bromo and Ijen were very helpful and friendly. They made the trip very enjoyable and memorable. There was someone to guide us in every step, including the ferry from Java to Bali. While the hotel in Ijen was top notch, the one in Bromo could have been a little better. However, this didn't take away anything from our trip. We had an amazing experience overall and highly recommend taking this tour with Ary and team.

5.00The whole process from booking to actual trip days is done so professionally. Our van was so spacious and new; villa was in the middle of rice terrace so beautiful. Our driver Itong took care of us so well and all lunch restaurants he introduced, omg food so delicious and local authentic to the max. All the local guides were very good and helpful they took and edit Natgeo level videos. Best trip ever!
