This area is part of the Vam Sat Salt-Marsh Forest Ecological Tourist Zone, situated between the Vam Sat and Long Tau Rivers. This region was severely impacted during the Vietnam War but has since regrown and is now protected as a wilderness park, showcasing nature’s resilience. Our adventure continues with a visit to the crocodile swamp, where you may catch a glimpse of these fascinating reptiles in their natural habitat. Next, we will explore the bat lagoon, home to a variety of bat species. We will then ascend Tang Bong Tower, which stands at 26 meters tall, providing breathtaking panoramic views of the biosphere reserve below.. After conquering the tower, we will enjoy a delicious lunch at a local restaurant, sampling regional specialties.

Great day and great host. The speedboat trip around the mangrove area was amazing and the various different stops along the way were brilliant.

Had an easy day excursion out to Monkey Island. We did it ourselves and it is a decent day out. Definitely take the boat out first to the camp and then walk back as it can get quite complicated to get boat tickets. It is quite a good spot to experience the mangroves and some of the Vietnamese culture as well as the Wildlife. Whilst the monkeys are interesting it is still worth keeping a distance especially with young children as they are wild animals.

Understand what you will really be seeing. I booked this trip expecting an outdoor and wildlife adventure when it's really more about the Viet Nam war history. It is an interesting look at recovery of an area that was hit hard by agent orange but certainly not beautiful. I found the monkeys and military music blaring from loudspeakers very creepy and unsettling. Our guide spoke good English and was very good.
