A rare opportunity to see the ancient bond between man and bird. In a small group, you will interact with a variety of hawks, falcons and owls, learn their natural history and their differences, and see an unforgettable flying demonstration. The Beginners Experience culminates with a chance for you
to put on a glove and hold a trained falcon.
There is a licensed falconer who oversees and presents each experience. The birds engage only by their own will.

What To Expect
This hour and a half class provides the average person exposure to an ancient sport many know little about. By discussing several different types of birds–eagles, owls, hawks, and falcons–the student gains a new appreciation for the bird’s inherent abilities and the nature of predation. After discussing the birds, the hawks are flown free in the surrounding countryside. The hour lesson concludes with each student having an opportunity to put on a leather glove and hold our trained Saker Falcon.There is a licensed falconer who oversees and presents each experience. The birds engage by their own will.

Incredible Falconry Experience!

5.00It was an incredible experience learning about the raptor birds. Their guide, Scott, was very knowledgeable and had been helping with Falcons since he was 7 years old. You could feel the passion in his voice for these birds. Scott led us through three different locations with several different birds of prey including three subspecies of Falcons, Hawks, and two types of owls. The hike with the flying hawk was awesome!

5.00It was a great experience for my son and I. We learned a lot about falconry in a relaxed atmosphere. Scott did a great job meaning everyone feel comfortable and demonstrating how to work the birds. We each got to have a bird perch on our arm at the end. But the bird was passed from the trainer to the participant. The bird did not fly and perch on your arm (just in case you were expecting it). It is worth the time and money. My teenage son and I enjoyed it.

5.00My son and I recently participated in the Falconry Experience at Broadmoor Outfitters, and it was easily one of the most unique, and memorable experiences we have ever shared together. Denise and Scott are absolutely outstanding. Their depth of knowledge about all birds, and specifically, falconry is remarkable—not only regarding the birds themselves, but also the rich history of falconry, training techniques, and the special relationships that exist between falconers and their birds. It was obvious from the moment they began speaking that this is a genuine passion of theirs. What impressed us most was their ability to make the experience both highly educational and incredibly fun. They presented a wealth of information in a way that was engaging, interactive, and easy to understand. The opportunity to interact with owls, falcons & hawks up close was amazing. Watching them fly, learning about their behaviors, and experiencing firsthand the trust and skill involved in falconry gave us an entirely new appreciation for these incredible birds. If you are visiting Colorado Springs, I recommend the Falconry Experience without hesitation. Denise and Scott will provide an experience that exceeds expectations. My son and I left with wonderful memories, a newfound respect for the art of falconry, and a long list of fascinating facts we were still talking about hours later.

5.00My husband and I did this experience with raptors and were completely blown away with how great of an experience it was!! The birds were amazing and obviously well taken care of. Deanna was such a great guide and we learned so much from her about the birds. It was incredible to interact with them and watch them in the outdoors, flying and showing their natural predatory behaviors. I highly recommend this, whether you are particularly a bird lover or not!

5.00This experience was awesome. Scott, our Falconer, was knowledgeable, Kind and fun. We are anxious to come back and do the intermediate class next time we are in the area.

5.00Update, Original review was 4, need to update to 5. After having to pay for parking that was said to be validated, TripAdvisor came through and made it right. Talking to the hotel (The Antlers) was a lesson in frustration. Thank you TripAdvisor for making it right. Tour was wonderful, Beth was amazing, we had a great time.

5.00You don't need to search any further - just call them! They are amazing, and you will not be disappointed. We had an absolutely outstanding experience with them. The falconry demonstration was truly unforgettable. Getting to witness free flight up close was incredible and easily one of the highlights of our entire trip. The falconers were so knowledgeable and engaging. They also brought along an axe-throwing activity, which was such a fun addition and a big hit with our group. From start to finish, they were great to work with. Communication was seamless, they were flexible, and everything was executed flawlessly. I highly recommend booking with them. You won't be disappointed! Do it!!
