We had a fantastic hike with our experienced guide, Javier! He was knowledgeable about the flora and fauna, very friendly, and listened to our feedback about what we were and were not comfortable doing (I have anxiety on trails with steep, sheer face drops). Javier made stops when we needed a water break or to catch my breath on steep accents, and gave us great information about the surrounding nature. He provided hiking poles, which were a great help. He was also very prepared and informed us about safety protocols for animal encounters (bears, moose, wolves) and we felt very safe. I would definitely book with this company again, and highly recommend! The views at the top of our 5 mile hike (1,700 ft elevation climb) were breathtaking!

Our guide, Andy, asked a lot of important questions before we departed so that he could judge everyone's abilities and choose a hike to suit everybody's comfort level. He chose an amazing trail for us that offered both challenging situations and incredible views. A person slipped and he moved into action by immediately assessing the situation and offering aid. He also brought snacks and hot Cocoa to share with the group when we reach the summit. Very knowledgeable and informative. I would definitely choose this guide and adventure again!

If you are looking for a guide in Denali, look no further than Alex. Our mixed-age group of five recently went on a 5-hour hike with him, and it was easily the highlight of our trip. We specifically requested a strenuous hiking experience, and Alex absolutely delivered, leading us up over 3,000 feet in altitude change! The Hike & Terrain Hiking in May during Denali's "breakup" season means navigating some beautifully unpredictable terrain. Because of the massive elevation gain, we passed through multiple biomes—from spongy tundra and rotting snow to steep, loose rock. The sheer variety of the landscape made the route incredibly interesting. What really stood out was how expertly Alex managed our group. He kept us perfectly in our “growth zone”—pushing us just outside our comfort zones so we felt challenged and accomplished, but never putting anyone in our “panic zone”. He continuously checked in to make sure no one was too tired or falling behind, and thoughtfully offered to take group photos for us during our resting pauses. An Inspiring Education Beyond being a great trail leader, Alex is a walking encyclopedia. He was incredibly knowledgeable about the local flora and fauna, pointing out animal tracks, plants, and fungi along the way. He beautifully explained the daily lives of local creatures and how everything within the ecosystem is deeply interconnected. His grasp of geology, biology, and chemistry is so impressive that our teenage son said he wished he could have Alex as his science teacher! More than just facts, his deep-rooted passion for preserving this wild nature for future generations is contagious. The Ultimate Bonus When we finally reached the mountain peak, we found out Alex had been carrying a massive jug of hot water in his pack the entire way up! He rewarded our hard work with a welcome surprise of hot drinks and healthy snacks while we took in the summit views. This was an unforgettable 5-star experience. I cannot recommend this hike enough; Alex is incredibly knowledgeable, deeply thoughtful, and expertly guides his groups through an appropriately challenging route. We need more people like him out there!

Alex, our guide was super smart and knowledgeable about the nature around us! I really enjoyed learning from him. He took us to a beautiful Lookout spot, the wind was insane, and we still had a fabulous time!

Our group of 6 did the Coyote Ridge Trail with Andy and Eric and had an excellent experience! Every detail was thought of from picking the trail, ensuring the safety and entertainment of every member of our party, and providing facts and anecdotes along the journey. We definitely recommend this company and excursion for those coming to Denali NP. Ask for Andy as your guide!

Their knowledge of the terrain and surrounding area was top notch. I would highly recommend this tour and these two guides!!

Alex took myself and 5 others on such a beautiful hike, remote and out of the busy tourist areas. It felt very special. This was the perfect time to go with all the changing colors right now. I was very impressed with Alex and his knowledge on so many plants, wildlife and living in Alaska. And when it came to make the trip enjoyable and we'll suited for everyone I felt he did an exceptional job pacing us and checking in. The best surprise was making it to the top and him having hot beverages for us and snacks! Such a nice treat. With only 12 days left it was such a great way to end my season working in Denali. I will absolutely be sharing my experience with guests that come to the Princess Lodge and along my travel journeys, until Denali and I meet again! Definitely do this because itll make you feel so comfortable being out with the animals and learning about Alaska its what makes its beauty SO magical! 💞 And you'll have a truly once in a lifetime experience! 💗

We had a great hike, with an individual guide. He tailored the trip to what we were looking for. He was very well schooled in the local biology.
