Very convenient to see the city of Dublin but the train situation was a bit of downer overall. It was great having the included ticket, allowed us to skip a long line of ticket purchasers. However, it was at least 30 minutes until the train arrived, so as one can imagine when you have 3,000 people coming off a boat and a lot of them are riding that train it makes for a very crowded and uncomfortable ride. I know the HOHO company has no control over rail service, and maybe they don’t run as frequently on Sunday when we were in port, but I almost scrapped the plan and went back to the ship. However, we made it. Full disclosure, never rode the bus as I found it just as easy to walk. But I saw them conveniently positioned all over town and seemed like no one would have had to wait long for a ride to the next stop. So as long as you’re aware that you may wait for the train for a bit (though no wait at all on the return trip 👍) it’s a great way to navigate Dublin.

The tour guides are awesome! Besides giving you the history of the areas, they sing Irish songs and everyone joins in. Such a wonderful experience and will recommend this company to everyone!!

Came into Dublin on a cruise ship that docked outside of Dublin. The hop on/hop off bus was late and unreliable to get around the city. We usually like these kinds of tours but this one was horrible. Had to end up taking Ubers and walking to get to attractions. Would have missed our Guinness Storehouse tour if we hadn’t taken an Uber (rather than use the bus to get there). I would say the only good thing about this tour was the train transfer from the cruise port to Dublin, except that the rail system had significant delays in the afternoon and we were lucky not to miss our cruise ship. The alternative hop on / hop off bus tour company actually loaded at the cruise terminal (which I didn’t know) making the train transfer unnecessary.

Our ticket showed that we could hop on at any station. We went to stop number 4 that said that the first bus would come at 9:20. We were there at 9:00. The bus was there and the driver also. He did not once look at us. He was busy on his phone. We waited and waited. At 9:20, he still wouldn’t look at us. At 9:23, he open the door and said that we had to go to stop number 8…. When I asked why he didn’t tell us before his answer was: I was not in service! Never seen such a poor client service! That was on May 25th 2026. I hope you can show your driver how to respect your clients for the future

Wonderful experience. We stayed on the HOHO to ensure we saw everything first and then we went around and got off an on at the sights we wanted to see more of. Everyone was very helpful in locating the correct stops to get back on the bus.

It was OK, for what it was. The only real negative was that the agent waiting for us claimed he gave us 2 rail tickets, but I am sure he was mistaken. I was holding what I thought were 2 tickets tightly in my hand between my thumb and index finger, but there was only 1. I'm sure I didn't drop one. After a few minutes of panicked searching, he finally gave us another "out of his own pocket," he claimed. I expect by the end of the day he would have found the missing ticket somewhere on his person.

This is a good way to get around Dublin yet does take time and planning. It works best if you know where/what you want to see knowledge of the time schedule is key. There is way too much to fit into one day.

The lack of detail and knowledge of the representative pierside was a bad start to the tour. Although he was friendly, he insisted that the QR code he needed to scan was sent to me in an email. I searched through all my emails with no luck. He said other people were having the same problem. So, he repeatedly offered an incorrect solution. Finally, I found the link on the VIATOR app. He handed us a map and circled two train stations. A handout detailing which exit to use at the train station would have saved us a lot of time and stress trying to figure out where the bus stop is. We exited on a street and there was no Hop On signage. We did see signage at another station exit. The bus tour itself was fine. The narrator was informative and entertaining. The information initially provided should be designed for a person's first visit to the area.

It said I paid for hop on hop off cruise and rail excursion but I only got the hop on hop off. I called and they said I don't get cruise. Very disappointed

Covers the city well. Drivers are very well informed. Steps are very steep. Clean buses and windows.
