What To Expect

Dunluce Castle

Perched dramatically on a basalt outcrop along the north coast of Antrim, Dunluce Castle was once the seat of the MacDonnell clan and has stood as a striking coastal fortress since the 13th century. With a rich history shaped by Viking, medieval, and later influences, the castle remains one of the most iconic landmarks on the Antrim Coast. Its rugged setting overlooking the North Atlantic has made it famous not only in Irish history but also in popular culture, featuring in Game of Thrones as Pyke and inspiring C.S. Lewis in The Chronicles of Narnia. Please note: this is a photo stop only. There is no entry to the castle included, but there will be time to take photos and enjoy the views.

Giant's Causeway

Discover one of Ireland’s most unforgettable natural wonders at the breathtaking Giant’s Causeway. Step out onto a landscape like no other, where over 40,000 interlocking basalt columns stretch out into the Atlantic Ocean. Most of these unique formations are hexagonal, creating what looks like a giant stone pathway leading straight across the sea. According to legend, this was the work of the Irish giant Finn McCool, who built the causeway to cross to Scotland and face his rival in battle. Whether you believe , the reality is just as impressive. Formed over 60 million years ago by volcanic activity, this UNESCO World Heritage Site is a masterpiece of nature and one of the most photographed locations in Ireland. Walk across the famous stones, explore the surrounding cliffs, and soak in the raw beauty of the North Atlantic coastline. The Giant’s Causeway is a true highlight of any trip to Northern Ireland. It’s a must-see experience that stays with you long after you leave.

  • An enjoyable day-tour to Northern Ireland

The Finn McCools Tour staff, Ana, Mac, and Trevor, were outstanding! We enjoyed a pleasant and safe bus coach tour to the sites and return to Dublin. The tour guide, Mac, was very knowledgeable in educating us on the history and people of Ireland. The staff was very attentive and caring for the tour passengers. The music during the trip provided an entertaining ambience, particularly the traditional Irish songs. A good bit of walking is involved in this tour, so it is not recommended for those with severe mobility impairments. The routes were manageable for most. The Giant's Causeway rocks can be very slippery, especially on a rainy day, so caution is advised when leaving the maintained trail. A bit more time in the Dark Hedges would have been nice. You could spend days exploring Belfast and its rich history.

We had a wonderful discovery day with Luka and Brian. Giants Causeway was a spectacular sight with the hexagon pillars. The time on the bus went by quickly and the commentary was spot on. Learned a lot about the Troubles and continued relationships between the Protestants and Catholics in Belfast.

We knew the minute we met Jacob, the guide and Tomas, the driver we would have a great day with them! Jacob was funny, professional and had great information and detail historical stories. Tomas was a great driver. We felt safe with him behind the wheel! I have to say he also has impeccable parking skills! While on our way we stopped at a restaurant area for coffee and snacks. Which was great for us because we didn’t have any snacks with us. One can bring their own snacks, however, each stop does have options for filling up on snacks thru out the day. One of the best tours I’ve been on! TBH Jacob and Tomas made our day! Informative, funny and all around great people.

Really enjoyed the tour. Beautiful scenery. We stopped our tour at Belfast and then spent a few days there. Not a problem with all of our luggage. Our tour guide kept everyone on time. A bit disappointed with Dun Luce Castle. My understanding is that we didn’t have permission to stop on the property.

Quiggs was a great guide, and gave us really good information regarding each of the sites we visited. He also provided a lot of good historic details which I really appreciated learning. Thomas, the coach driver, did a terrific job too. We saw amazing places, learned much more about Ireland and Northern Ireland, and had some good laughs. Would recommend this tour.
