What To Expect
Get out of the city for a fun day in our Sonoran desert wilderness. PicTours Arizona departs everyday in search of fun while we drive through tribal farm land as we head toward Superstition Mountain, home of the fabled, Lost Dutchman mine. Come with us as we take you on a safe drive on the historic Apache Trail and a mild hike on Superstition Mountain. With its fame, fables and folklore we will lead you to the very mountain where the Lost Dutchman's Mine is hidden. As a bonus, we visit Goldfield Ghost Mining Town. An authentic ghost town, Goldfield was used for many popular television and filmed westerns. Enjoy the many western activities that Goldfield offers, such ziplining, railroad rides, shopping or take a tour into the actual gold mine. The town's saloon, the Mammoth is a must stop for lunch or belly up to the old west style bar.

5.00Wonderful tour out of Scottsdale. We ventured into Tonto National Forest and experienced the Sonoran desert on a light mile-long hike. We saw giant saguaros and different varieties of wild cholla. Mike, our tour guide, was a wealth of information and a great story teller. He also took some great scenic photos which he shared with us. We lunched at Goldfield Ghost Town, a recreated gold mining town with authentic atmosphere. Superstition Mountains served as our beautiful view during lunch. The van was comfortable but carried only cold water. Bring your own snacks and save your appetite for good food at Goldfield.

5.00Our experience with Kathleen was amazing. She used every opportunity on the way to and during the stops to point out interesting sites and give us background knowledge while still throwing in many fun tidbits. We learned so much and came home feeling we had been immersed in the desert and the culture and history of Arizona. She enthusiastically answered our questions, took and suggested photo ops, and checked in with us often to make sure nothing was too strenuous for us. We absolutely recommend this tour.

5.00Mike was our awesome tour guide. He was so patient and kind to us throughout our 5 hour tour. We enjoyed the beautiful hike on the the Apache Trail, despite the 95 degree heat. We learned a lot about the native plants and creatures that lived there. Great tour to Superstition Mountain and surrounding sites.
