Visitors may see any of the main Yellowstone attractions they desire (Old Faithful, Grand Prismatic, the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone, etc). We also will do our best to locate wildlife, such as bears, wolves, bison, elk, and more, though of course we cannot guarantee seeing specific animals. Stops can be any length desired and can optionally involve walking or hiking. If we see something really amazing and spend a lot of time on that, we will not cut the rest of the tour short. We'll prioritize helping you do and see the things you want, and are willing to spend extra time. (Of course, if you're on a strict schedule, we'll make sure to get you back when you need.)

Our private Yellowstone tour with Thomas of Backroads Bear Adventures was one of the highlights of our trip. From the very beginning, Thomas made everything easy. Scheduling was seamless, and he arrived right on time for a pickup that worked perfectly with our plans. Traveling through Yellowstone in his comfortable Cadillac Escalade, complete with microphone and speaker system, made it easy to hear his commentary and fully appreciate everything we were seeing. Thomas is incredibly knowledgeable about Yellowstone's geothermal features, wildlife, history, and geography. Yellowstone is enormous, and with our limited time, we would never have been able to see as much on our own. Thomas carefully planned an itinerary that maximized every minute and ensured we experienced the park's most impressive highlights. His passion for Yellowstone is evident in everything he does. He loves his job, and that enthusiasm is contagious. While Yellowstone is certainly more rustic than Grand Teton National Park, Thomas knew exactly where to stop for the best facilities and visitor amenities. The Visitor Education Center at Old Faithful was an excellent stop and added valuable context to our experience. One of the most memorable moments of the day was a scenic lakeside lunch that Thomas thoughtfully selected. Surrounded by mountains and safely away from a recent bear sighting area, it was the perfect setting to relax and take in the beauty of Yellowstone. Lunch from Blue Moon Bakery was outstanding, complete with chips and an absolutely delicious cream cheese brownie. Throughout the day, Thomas entertained us with fascinating stories about Yellowstone, including some memorable grizzly tales and stories of the park's colorful history. He quickly recognized that we had already enjoyed extensive wildlife viewing in Grand Teton and adjusted the tour to match our interests. Even so, we still saw plenty of wildlife, including massive bison right beside the road, two elk in a meadow after a short walk, and beautiful harlequin ducks navigating the rapids. Of course, no one can predict exactly what nature will provide on any given day, but Thomas was prepared for everything with his wealth of knowledge and experience. His ability to adapt, educate, and create a memorable experience made our day truly special. We cannot thank Thomas enough for making our Yellowstone adventure so enjoyable. He is a true gem, and we wholeheartedly recommend Backroads Bear Adventures to anyone looking for a phenomenal Yellowstone guide.

Thomas was incredible! He was super at communicating with us before the day, and tailored our experience to exactly what we needed. He was so knowledgeable about the park, took us to incredible sights, on and off the beaten path. For example, we loved watching the harlequin ducks that we would have never know about. He also was so great with our littles (4 &2) who enjoyed their experience just as much as we did. Highlight of our trip to Yellowstone, we all agree we look forward to using him again in the future!
