What To Expect
Thingvellir National Park
Þingvellir National Park – A UNESCO World Heritage Site where you can walk between two continents! Explore dramatic landscapes formed by the shifting tectonic plates of North America and Eurasia. This is also the historic site of Iceland’s first parliament, founded in 930 AD. We’ll enjoy an easy and scenic walk through the rift valley, surrounded by stunning nature and fascinating history.
Geysir Geothermal Area – We will spend about one hour exploring this incredible geothermal field, home to bubbling hot springs, steaming vents, and the famous Strokkur geyser, which erupts impressively every few minutes. You’ll have time to walk around the area, take in the natural beauty, and capture amazing photos. We will also enjoy our lunch here in a nearby restaurant with views of the geothermal landscape.

5.00We truly appreciate Viator of their full understanding and accommodating our group’s changes. The change was made in less than 12 hours before the trip. It was not an easy situation as the schedule changes due to different agendas and the local weather. Viator worked with us promptly and professionally. We are so pleased of the trip even the weather was not an ideal situation. The driver, Valinca, was so accommodating and worked with our schedule. Big Kudos to Valinca and Viator.

4.00Our driver was very friendly, very accomodating and we felt safe with his driving. However, we certainly didn't get any knowledge of Iceland from him, we may as well have just booked a taxi to take us arouind. A friend went on one recently and also go a guide in with their tour, they learned all sorts. We thought that is what we were getting but sadly that was not the case.

2.00The Golden Circle is a wonderful way to see a good portion of Iceland. We liked having a private tour person so we could be on our own schedule. Unfortunately, our guide, although a nice guy, was unable to provide any information about anything we were taken to or even whilst we had lengthy times in the car. We had to even ask where we were going next and how long would it take. He just dropped us off. No information about Iceland or the places we were visiting was offered. It was nearly $1,000 US $ and much too expensive to have a guide with no knowledge of what we were seeing. Disappointing to say the least. If you can get a guide who is from Iceland who knows the area instead of a person who is not from Iceland, you will have a better experience than us.

4.00Driver was good, drove safely and pleasant. Charge was very high and included in Golden Circle is Blue Lagoon, a 15 minute ride from the airport. yet, Viator wanted to charge us an added $180 for drop off at airport that took the drive 15 minutes extra. Outrageous.
