We visited for the "gourmet tasting with immersive game", which I've reviewed separately. Le Comptoir may not be situated on the most picturesque street in Carcassonne, but it's a listed historic building in its own right. The shop and wine bar have a great range of local wines, and the tasting room upstairs is an amazing space with great views over the Cité. The staff we dealt with while booking and doing the tasting were extremely friendly and helpful. Be aware that the shop is the retail outlet of the Foncalieu co-operative, which represents over 600 winegrowers in the region, so those are the only wines you'll find here. While that's still a great range and variety of wines, there are thousands of other great Occitanie wines to discover too, which you'll have to seek out elsewhere.
