Place Stanislas
Place Stanislas, a magnificent witness to Baroque art of the 18th century, teaches us a little more about the attachment of the Duchy of Lorraine to the Kingdom of France. Behind the beauty of this unique ensemble are many symbols that evoke this little-known episode of history. Stanislas Leszczynski, who proudly sits in its center, is both King of Poland, Duke of Lorraine and father-in-law of the King of France, Louis XV. He's in charge of building this royal square. Jean Lamour’s rococo grills form a golden setting around this character with an extraordinary destiny.
