This was an excellent introduction to Johannesburg and Soweto, with a very knowledgeable and personable tour guide. The van accommodated the four of us nicely. The stop at the prison where Black activists had been held was thought-provoking. Other than that stop we saw only a few streets of Joburg. Most of the time we were touring Soweto, and it was very informative and eye-opening. We saw how economically diverse Soweto is, from the few very rich to the many very poor. It was interesting to see Nelson Mandela's house, Trevor Noah's neighborhood, and the memorial to Hector Pieterson and the other students who were massacred in the uprising of 1976.
