What To Expect

Enjoy a 5-course Japanese sushi cooking class in Tucson, hosted through Cozymeal. This hands-on experience blends traditional Japanese cuisine with innovative fusion recipes, guided by your local chef. You’ll prepare comforting miso soup, a refreshing edamame salad, master sushi-rolling techniques with two signature rolls, and finish with a sweet-savory dessert. The menu you will prepare includes: - Starter: Miso soup with tofu, dashi and shiitake mushrooms - Salad: Edamame salad with pickled ginger, avocado and almonds - Sushi 1: California roll with sushi rice, nori, cucumber, avocado and surimi - Sushi 2: Inside-out spicy shrimp roll with sushi rice, shrimp, avocado, sriracha and nori - Dessert: Miso butter cookies with sesame seeds and buttery sweetness Guests are welcome to enjoy their creations during class and bring wine or beer to complement the meal.

    We were staying in Tucson on vacation, and looking for something fun to do. I found Cozymeal and Chef Linda while doing a search, and decided to try them out. We spent a fun evening learning some French cuisine techniques, proper knife technique, and lots of history and trivia. Chef Linda was a wealth of knowledge, and explained things in a way were were unlikely to forget. We had such a fun time, and had a delicious meal in the end!

    What an absolutely delightful evening this turned out to be! Our chef was wonderful, patient, and clearly passionate about helping everyone learn. We were joined by a second couple which made the whole experience even more social. We started with blistered Shishito peppers as a light starter, then moved through the art of making the perfect sushi rice, slicing fish, and rolling California rolls, spicy tuna towers, nigiri, and sashimi. The vibe was warm and welcoming, and the whole class was hands-on in a way that kept it fun and creative. We are definitely going to order a sushi kit and replicating the techniques at home!
