What To Expect
Experience the real Japanese lifestyle while in Fukuoka. Visit a modern Japanese home and learn to cook some home-style dishes. Start from the basics of Japanese cooking and learn about the different flavors that make it stand out from other cuisines. Study the art of umami while making some dishes traditionally made in homes all over Japan. Roll your own maki sushi which is often made to celebrate festivals or birthdays by local families. Fry up some mixed vegetable kakiage tempura, a common dish found in most homes around Japan. Then make some classic miso soup, as it wouldn’t be a home cooked without a bowl of miso on the side. Finish your meal with some local in season fruits and coffee for dessert. Relax and enjoy a taste of what it is like to really live in Japan.

5.00very nice family and delicious food. It was very fun learning and talking with them about cooking and life in Japan. It definitely helps if one person in the group knows Japanese though for full exp, which my girlfriend did.

5.00An excellent cooking class on authentic, homemade Japanese cooking with lovely and friendly hosts. The class was a memorable moment from our trip, we not only learnt how to make sushi, but also tempura, miso and salad with plenty of tips to take home. The hosts communication and teaching methods were easy to follow and clear, the classroom in their home was spacious and the food we made was absolutely delicious. I would highly recommend this experience for travelers in the Fukuoka area
