The homes provide all the essential sanitary equipment for the guests (paper towels for washing hands, hand sanitizing gel and so on). A Day We Will Never Forget

5.00When we cruise, we love to get away from the crowds and try to experience the local culture as much as possible. One of our favorite ways to do this is to book food or drink tours so we were excited to find this opportunity to have a cooking demo in the home of a local family. The day before our tour, we were disappointed to learn our original host had to cancel due to illness, but excited to learn that Trip Advisor was able to arrange another experience at a different home. We were picked up right across from the port and had a lovely drive through the countryside. Our jaws dropped when we arrived at our destination. A beautiful Italian Villa awaited us and we were welcomed like lost long relatives with Prosecco and appetizers. Our hosts graciously allowed us to wander their property and home and answered all our questions. After a little relaxation, we were treated to a demonstration on how to make Tiramisu and pasta. While we were cooking, we had a lot of fun playing old 45 records on our host's antique juke box. Soon it was time to sit down for our amazing lunch. We were treated to a five-course meal which we will never forget. Each course was paired with local wine. Even better than the food was the amazing connection we felt with our hosts as they shared stories of their family and lives. Of all the amazing tours we have booked this has to be my all-time favorite. I am so grateful for Trip Advisor for going the extra mile to find a substitute experience for us and to Daniele Pallotto and family for welcoming us into their hearts and home.
